My studio companions. Sammy and Emma have been really patient with me for the past few months while I prepared for the exhibition. I’m really thankful for them ❤️ not sure they understand what I’ve been doing but I’m taking them to check out my show anyways 😆

See you this Saturday!

Our house…with two DOGS in the yard.

I’ve been keeping a secret for the past few years, a secret only close friends and family know about – we’ve been building a laneway house in Vancouver! It has truly been a labour of love (and tears).

We started the whole process a couple of years ago, after learning that the city of Vancouver had changed the bylaws to allow for larger laneway homes. Thanks to Hubert’s parents, who own a property in the city, we’ve been fortunate enough to build a custom house in their backyard.

After many, many meetings, and countless emails and documents, the house is almost ready. This also means that we’ll be saying goodbye to our lovely community in Squamish very soon, and I’m not ready for that…Despite feeling bittersweet about leaving, I’m excited about this new chapter.

Can’t wait to share more about the new house!

It’s just about three weeks until my solo show Reassembly at !

I’ve been working on this show since last year. Even though most of the action didn’t happen until this year, I’ve had more time to experiment this round. I’m still painting bold shapes, but this time I’ve been holding myself back from being too perfect. It’s been a process of learning how to let go, how to embrace imperfections and beautiful accidents. If you look closely, you might even spot pencil marks left uncovered 🙈

The more I see AI-generated work circulating online, the more I yearn for something analog and tactile. The problem with AI is that everything starts to feel too perfect, almost unsettling. I truly believe that it’s the human flaws in art and culture that make things feel alive and keep the world interesting. Human creation is what transcends time and space.

In preparing for this show, I’ve been playing with different textures and materials. I love when underlying colours peek through the surface, creating depth and unexpected effects. Seven medium-to-large works and seven small pieces were created this time. I can’t wait for you to see my new body of work!

Please come by my opening reception on April 18, from 12–4pm at This Gallery. I think there will be cake 😝

Exhibition Dates: April 17–26
Location: This Gallery, 108 E Broadway, Vancouver (entrance in the alley)
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 18, 12–4pm

Here are some photos from the opening reception of the Art Rental Show at ! It runs until April 11 if you haven’t seen it yet.

If you spot something you like, you can rent it right away and take it home! It’s a great way to see how it feels in your space, and more importantly, whether it really resonates with you before deciding to keep it.

The program runs year-round!

Paintings are a feeling.
A way of seeing.

When the world doesn’t make sense anymore, this is where I find peace.

I’m excited to share that some of my paintings are available for rent through Art Rental Program! There will be an opening reception for the new 2026 Art Rental collection at CityScape Community ArtSpace on March 7 from 2–4pm. The exhibition will run until April 11.

Hope to see you next Saturday!
