I recently met a lovely couple at a church in Spruce Grove. They had fallen on hard times and the gentleman spoke in front of the congregation to thank everyone that had helped him and his wife during this difficult time. He also shared that prior to this apartment, they were staying in sketchy motels and they were so thankful their prayers had been answered. Now, they feel so blessed to be in an apartment.
It was a very heartfelt thank you and it moved me to ask him after the church service if they needed anything for their apartment?
He hesitated.
I asked, "Do you have a bed?" He answered quietly, "No".
I asked, "Do you have a table and chairs?"
Again, he answered quietly, "No".
"What about a dining room table?" I asked.
Again, he answered quietly, "No".
"Do you have pillows or sheets?"
Again, he answered quietly, "No".
I was astounded this man before me had just announced how thankful he was not even 5 minutes earlier. And, you could feel that he genuinely felt this way.
So, I would love if anyone in our area has anything to donate to this family, please reach out to me and I will help make arrangements.
Please know that when someone needs help, they may not ask. But, it is very important for humanity to be kind to one another. There are so many things we all have to be grateful for and I would love to be able to be the connector for this family to help them fulfill their dreams.
