This is where I share the nuts & bolts of how I function. My focus is faith, family, food, & fitness!

128.4 running kilometres - with moving schedules and questionable weather, it got done. My strength training was ~5 hours which I would have liked to seen higher but mentally, couldn’t find the capacity for it in the schedule. ~4 hours of indoor biking and walking distance was dismal. I don’t feel prepared for any of the runs this summer. I killed another pair of shoes. April felt like there was no Spring in sight. Showing up daily I know will add up over time but sometimes, I just want to take a nap.

Lovely winter run in April.

I questioned my sanity a few times during this windy run but was thankful should anything happen, I was wearing my yellow jacket so could be easily found.

The hardest 5k I have done in a while. I get the opportunity to now run 4 days a week …an increase from 3 and nothing is falling apart yet but it’s a different kind of hard. Questionably slow. Walked when needed. Remembered- better than zero. Trying to remember that boring flat runs will give me the endurance for beautiful hilly ones.

How are the trails? Questionable and ever changing.

I choose 437m of artificial hills today instead of the outdoors. Better than zero.

As of May 1, I will officially have to run my flat days outdoors. (Cancelled my membership!)

I decided to go back through stats for the first quarter for running kilometres:
2026 = 280.6km
2025 = 126.6km
2024 = 70.3km
Sometime progress isn’t always obvious. I also biked twice a week, strength trained twice a week, and stretched once. The weather felt like harassment. I learned that I need to count the loops at the track. Friends make running undesirable weather conditions beautiful and fun.

Needed motivation to ditch the track today. In my effort to reduce plastic exposure, I decided to sit and drink my coffee. The cup was IKEA made in Turkey. Bonus: it reminded me to eliminate hurry to take care of my soul. 🌳 (and yes, I wore my vest for a short run to get used to the weight)
Run: 5km
Walk: 2.5km
