Spears Music Lessons Update : Spring Break 2026
We’ve made it to Spring Break! Although I must say that it feels more akin to a Winter Break right now… isn’t Albertan weather the most fun? Regardless of the interesting weather, I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your Spring Breaks and are looking forward to a wonderful Easter, too.

Lessons are closed for the entirety of this week (today, March 30th to Friday, April 3rd) and will also be closed for Easter Monday, April 6th, too. I hope you all enjoy a little extra break time before the final push to the end of the year begins!

The waiting list for lessons is also still open for prospective students. If you are interested in music lessons either for yourself or for your child in the fall, I strongly recommend you to reach out to me now so that I can ensure that your child will be able to start come the new school year. There are quite a number of families waiting for music lessons currently, so the sooner you send in your request to be added to the waiting list the better your chances are of getting a spot for the fall!

With all that being said, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week. Until April 7th, take care!

Spears Music Lessons Update: March 7th
__________

Hello everyone! I hope the beginning of your weekend has been great so far.

Seeing as how I’ve recently gotten sick again (for what feels like the 100th time over the past few months - so it goes being a teacher), I figured now is as good a time as ever to put a post out about students coming in sick for lessons.

If you/your child have/has any of the following symptoms, PLEASE do not bring yourself/them in for music lessons:
- Profusely runny nose,
- Regular, productive cough,
- Recurrent sneezing,
- Irregular tiredness.

I accept that since there are almost 40 different families taking lessons with me on a weekly basis, it is nearly impossible to ensure that I will not get hit by at least a couple of sicknesses throughout the year. However, I would also very much enjoy not getting sick almost every single month like clockwork. If you/your child seem sick, please just send me a message to let me know and we can reschedule the lesson time!

I understand that may be a little difficult for some of your families who have fast-moving schedules. Honestly, it is so majorly appreciated when someone reaches out to let me know they/their child can’t make it because they’re sick because I know it can really complicate the day’s schedule.

Staying home when sick not only is protecting me, of course, but is also really protecting the many other students I come into contact with on a daily basis. Some of these students have less robust immune systems, so all of our collective health choices are keeping them healthy.

Thank you everyone for understanding and I hope you all are staying healthy right now. Looking forward to having you all back next week. Take care until then!

Hello, everybody!

It's the holiday season once again! Did 2025 fly by fast or what? What a great year it has been, though!

With the holidays now imminent, here are some important times to note regarding music lessons. Lessons will be breaking starting DECEMBER 22, 2025 and will be closed until JANUARY 4, 2026. Lessons will resume regular weekly scheduling on, you may have guessed it, JANUARY 5, 2026 (which is a Monday). If you'll be missing the first week of January for vacation, just let me know and I can make note of that in my schedule.

Also, lesson rates! Rates will be changing to $30/half an hour and $50/full hour lessons beginning JANUARY 19, 2026. *If you have lessons paid for before that point, you will still be honoured the lesson times you have paid for at the previous price.*

I look forward to seeing out the rest of this week with all of you wonderful students. I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful, joy-filled Christmas and New Year this year, too!

See you all around,

- Jeremiah

Fall Break is Next Week!

Can you believe it? It feels like the fall break ran up so quickly on us all! It's only a little while now before a certain snowy holiday sneaks up on us, too...

Lessons will be closed for all students next week, November 10th - 14th. I hope you all get to enjoy some wonderful time relaxing and spending some quality time with friends and family!

Also, we've got a good problem here at the Spears Music Studio! We're totally booked up on weekly students currently! If you're looking for lessons from me and don't mind a little bit of a wait, I have got a waiting list open right now for families/individuals looking to start lessons with me in the future. If you're interested in lessons with me in the future, here are two steps you can take:
1. Check out the lessons schedule on our website: https://spearsmusicstudio.com/lessons/. The green tiles are time slots that will be available when some other student drops lessons.
2. Message me what times you'd be interested in and what instrument you'd like lessons for. You can send me as many different desired times as you'd like! Just note that I do not do lessons on the weekends. I don't have any problem if you'd prefer doing a monthly or bi-weekly lesson, or if you'll just book lessons on an as-can-do basis! I'm more than happy to work with you to make lessons fit into your busy life schedule.

Take care, everyone! Message me anytime if you'd like to discuss more what lessons with me look like, equipment/instrument requirements, and all other music-related questions.

All the best,
- Jeremiah

Summer is almost here, everyone! We’ve made it to, inarguably, the best season of the year! No counterarguments will be accepted!

Lessons for guitar, drums, piano, bass, ukulele, and theory will be continuing with regular scheduling (Monday through Friday 10am - 8pm) throughout the summer season (July - August). If you’re interested in booking lessons for yourself or your child, message me at any time and I’d be more than happy to book you in for some wonderful music lessons! There is a little extra availability this summer as I’ve got a couple families taking breaks over the season, so there is no better time than now to get in for some lessons! Lessons will also be continuing with normal scheduling into the fall, too. So, if fall times work better for you to start lessons, message me and we can work out some times for you!

Lessons will be closed for a summer break from July 21st through to August 11th. So, there is still a little forced time off for even the most hardcore of students this year!

There will also be some special events happening soon at Spears Music Lessons! We will be starting to do some "student band" events learning how to play live together very soon. If you are a current student of more than 2 months, stay tuned for info about these events being sent out to your inbox shortly.

I’m looking forward to the sunshine and all the wonderful things coming this season!

February already!? Wow, has 2025 been flying by fast or what?

It seems that February is the month where all the PD days got dropped off this year - and some of them joined forces and transformed into a super PD day, which is what we've got coming up this week! A miniature "February Break!"

On both February 14th, Valentine's Day, and February 17th, Family Day, lessons will be closed for the entire day. Also, later on in the month on the 21st of February, I will be away from 5:30pm onwards.

Looking ahead even further, I'll be away for a whole WEEK at the very end of February going into March for an important trip. But that will take place from Feb. 28th - Mar. 10th. I will send out reminders for that as the time draws nearer!

Enjoy your long weekend, everyone! Have a happy Valentine's Day and a wonderful Family Day! :)

~ Jeremiah
