CreatEd Studio offers authentic learning experiences through dramatic arts, play and literacy.
Jessica Sokolowski is a part-time professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa and is also an elementary teacher with the CDSBEO. She has completed both her Masters and PhD in Education, and specializes in arts-based learning. Through her research, teaching and personal experiences of learning through the arts, she has become an advocate for arts education and is passionate about literacy, performing arts and educating teachers on arts-based methods for teaching.

The Fun Stuff
This session is geared towards primary learning (grades 1-3) and will focus on drama games, improvisation exercises and visual arts activities. Be prepared to have some fun!
Mindfulness through Creativity
This session will focus on building confidence and self-esteem by tapping into the nurturing nature of the arts. Students will participate in visual arts activities such as blackout poetry, collage and artistic journaling as mindful activities. By combining music and art, students will connect with their creative self. This class will run multiple sessions, one student (ages 10-14) and one adult.
Storytelling Through Movement
Routed in the creative process (Ontario Arts Curriculum), this session will infuse the elements of drama with the elements of dance/movement. By exploring movement as a means to share stories, students will be invited to create characters and participate in collective creation. This session is suitable for students aged 9-12.
