I am so excited to now be offering IASTM! (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization)
What is IASTM?
IASTM is the use of stainless steel instruments to assess and treat lesions and other soft tissue disorders. This is typically done in combination with the massage treatment you would normally receive.
I have attached a quick demo of a forearm/hand treatment. (my favourite! π)
What kind of injuries can be treated with IASTM?
- Tendinitis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Plantar fasciitis
- Scar tissue/ post surgical scars
- Ligament sprains
- Muscle strains
- Nerve entrapment
- And much more!

Letβs talk about posture! More specifically posture of the neck and shoulders.
Chances are you are reading this post from your mobile device with your head dropped down and forward. π€³
Many of us spend several hours a day on a phone or at a computer slouching throughout the day. This can lead to chronic pain, headaches, lack of mobility, and may even lead to restricted breathing patterns.
This forward posture affects the curvature of the neck and thoracic spine putting increased pressure on the neck and shoulder muscles as well as surrounding ligaments and may even cause disc compression.
Massage can provide relief by increasing muscle pliability to shortened muscles, decreasing stiffness and pain, increasing body awareness, and providing home care that you can do to prevent this!
Some ways you can ease the symptoms of head forward posture in day to day life:
β
avoid excessive usage and take regular breaks - try setting a timer on your phone to remember to move around.
β
check in with your posture regularly, are you slouching?
β
raise your phone/computer to eye level, also check in and make sure your desk set up at work is ergonomically correct.
β
gentle movement of the neck slowly rotating your neck as if you were to shoulder check back and forth, followed by bringing your ear toward your shoulder side to side.
Any questions comment below or DM me!
