Our Story
A Col is a pass or saddle between two mountain peaks, a fitting title for our little guesthouse between the North and South Slocan Valley. Being ‘outdoor enthusiasts’, my husband and I wanted to put a little mountain charm into the name.
Our primary job is a bit of an anomaly. We own and operated a small backcountry ski and snowboarding lodge, Ice Creek Lodge, which is just on the outskirts of Valhalla Provincial Park, B.C. During our 17 years of operation, we have been running the business from our home. Two children later, we knew it was time to relocate our office and create the much needed separation of family and business life.
A few years and a few hurdles later, we are now excited to open our doors to you. While Ice Creek Lodge operates one side of the building, The Col welcomes travellers from all around the globe to land and relax while you enjoy the beauty of the North and South Slocan Valley, BC. Thank you for taking the time to check us out!
Kind Regards,
