My thoughts on the Tim Hortons encampment.
As always, endless thanks to Michelle Ruby and the Reformer staff for seeking our input on issues relating to our downtown!
One step at a time, folks
Just a reminder that our meeting today is at 1pm @ Riversyde 83!

๐ฃ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ: Notice of application to repeal Heritage designation By-Law 81-26 45 for Peel Street, Simcoe
๐ง๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ that an application has been received under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act to repeal By-law 81-26, which designates the property municipally known as 45 Peel Street, Simcoe.
The property is located at the corner of Peel Street and Kent Street South in downtown Simcoe. The building was designated in 1981 for its significance in illustrating early 20th-century institutional architecture. Originally constructed as the Post Office and Customs Offices, the building opened to the public in January 1910 and has since been adapted for other uses while maintaining its exterior architectural character.
The application seeks to repeal the designation By-law, thereby removing the propertyโs heritage status.

Next meeting: May 23rd, Saturday 1pm - Please share!
Big thanks to Eric at for generously opening the space to host us.
On the agenda: Weโll be revealing our full meeting schedule for the rest of the year - no more guessing when weโre gathering.
Weโll be talking about some key meetings weโve been having behind the scenes. Things are moving, conversations are happening, and we want you in the loop.
And finally drilling down our outreach committee. I havenโt forgotten about you folks who expressed interest - we will formalize it.
And we need your input: Weโre looking at hosting all willing candidates for the Simcoe council seats and anyone running for mayor. Weโre going to give them a chance to speak to our mandate, hear how working together might look if theyโre elected.
But we need thoughts on format. Town hall style? Separate event? Fold it into these meetings? Tell us what you think makes sense.
Lots of good signs. Weโre growing in many directions at once. Would love to see some new faces - please share this widely.
Stay tuned for a more detailed agenda next week.

Showed up for the trails today.
Rolling Cannabis called it, we answered.
Good crew, good work, trails in better shape than we found them.
Not much else to say - sometimes you just put in the hours and let the results speak.
Bags filled, paths cleared, done.
Appreciate everyone who made time for it.
