Our office will be closed on Tuesday, September 30th for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day is a time to acknowledge the history and lasting impacts of residential schools, and how we can meaningfully support reconciliation in the work we do and communities we serve.

This spring, Lakefield's Danielle Webster and U of S law students led a weekly Grade 6/7 program at Westmount Community School. Students explored Access to Justice, Systemic Racism, Restorative and Indigenous Justice, and Criminal Law. The program culminated in a Mock Trial at the Court of King’s Bench, where students stepped into the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and jury, with a judge sharing insights and providing a real look at the justice system.

Over the weekend, we participated in the Saskatoon Heartbeat Run, supporting both The Mending Little Hearts Fund and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

This cause holds a special place in our hearts. One of our Associate Lawyers and her family take part each year in honour of their daughter, who was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and severe aortic stenosis.

For us, showing up isn’t just about running a race. It’s about standing beside our teammate, advocating for better healthcare for Saskatchewan kids, and supporting families in our community who are navigating unimaginable challenges.

We are grateful to be part of this event, and even more grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a future where children can receive the care they need, right here at home.

Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan

Our office will be closed on Monday, September 1st for Labour Day. Wishing our clients and colleagues a safe and relaxing long weekend.

We will be back to regular hours on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Yesterday, our Lakefield LLP team had the privilege of spending the afternoon at Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan for their Home for Dinner program. Together, we prepared and served a meal for 57 guest - families staying at the House while their children receive medical care.

It was a heart-warming reminder of the importance of community, comfort, and connection during challenging times. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and support such an incredible organization. ❤️
