🩺 Vet Check Day for Our Six Newest Surrenders! 🩺

Today was a big day for our newest arrivals at Saskatoon Parrot Rescue—all six birds had their veterinary checkups, and we’re happy to share that everyone has been cleared for adoption! 🎉
We’re just waiting on DNA sex-test results for a couple of the birds before all their profiles are finalized. Keep an eye on our Facebook and website!

🐦 Budgies:
• Allie Almond
• Cashew
• Pistachio
• Chestnut

💛 Peanut the Parrotlet
Peanut is a very special little bird who must be kept separately from any other bird. It is crucial that Peanut goes to a home where they will be the only bird.

🍃 And one Adorable Finch named Monty!

A huge shout-out to Evergreen Veterinary Clinic in Saskatoon for always taking such wonderful care of our rescues! We’re so grateful for your support. 💚

These six sweet birds are now ready to begin looking for their forever homes! 🏡🦜

Coco is a 27 year old male Moluccan cockatoo. His diet consists of Zupreem fruit pellets and fresh fruits and vegetables. We’re still exploring his likes and dislikes when it comes to fresh food.

His nails are a work in progress. They will need regular trimming until they get to a normal length.

Coco is a typical M2. Loud and proud. He does speak a few words, lots of whistling, mimics a fire alarm and an air raid siren 😳. He will laugh when he poops on the floor. He makes a loud kiss noise when you kiss him.

He needs regular misting as he is very dusty.

If you hold food or toys up to his beak, he’ll grab it and pretend to throw it. He prefers to grab things with his foot.

He will let you know when he’s had enough interaction. He’ll bunt you with his beak or deliver a fairly gentle nip. Nothing too serious at this point.

Coco is a very good boy, but every inch a cockatoo. Applicants MUST have previous experience with larger birds, the ability to read body language, and a high tolerance for noise.

Looking forward to your applications!
