I’m often asked for vendor recommendations in wedding Facebook groups. If you see me tagging a business or dropping a name, it’s because I’ve personally experienced their work and would happily recommend them.

So, I thought it might be fun to start sharing a few of my favourites.

The result? Pre-wedding photos that feel like us and somehow captured all the excitement, joy, and anticipation of this season of life.

A gentle reminder to all couples planning a wedding: do your research, ask questions, find vendors you connect with…and then trust them to work their magic. Sometimes the best thing you can do is step back and let talented people shine.

A funny realization from being both a bride-to-be and someone who works in the wedding industry: once you start planning your own wedding, you suddenly meet a LOT of vendors.

Some become instant favourites. Others become people you’re happy to work alongside for a day. And every now and then, you find someone who completely understands the assignment. Keep an eye on my next post to see how trust went a loooong way and it paid off!!

As a marriage commissioner, I’ve seen a lot of memorable moments…but this one may have entered a galaxy all its own. Just when everyone thought the ceremony was proceeding as planned, the bride pulled out a lightsaber and delivered a quote from Yoda. 🌌⚔️

A perfect reminder that weddings don’t have to fit a mold. They can be romantic, heartfelt, meaningful, and just a little bit nerdy.

One of the biggest traps in wedding planning is comparison.

The wedding industry, Pinterest boards, Instagram reels, and well-meaning opinions can make it feel like you should do things a certain way. Bigger flowers. More décor. Different colours. A larger guest list.

Here’s your reminder: your wedding isn’t a competition.

Whether you’re saying “I do” in a backyard, a barn, a ballroom, or on a beach, the best wedding is the one that feels like you.

Choose the traditions you love. Skip the ones you don’t. Spend where it matters to you. Save where it doesn’t. Create a day that reflects your story, not someone else’s highlight reel.

At the end of it all, your guests won’t remember how closely you followed trends. They’ll remember the love, the laughter, and how the two of you looked at each other.

Yesterday, a member of the wedding party had a full blown wardrobe malfunction at the 11th hour. Panic levels? Somewhere between “minor inconvenience” and “cancel the group photos.”

But his girlfriend swooped in like a superhero and picked up new pants just in time. Crisis averted. Wedding pictures saved. Nerves restored.

Now that’s love. Not just the big vows and first dances, but the quiet heroics, emergency errands, and “don’t worry, I’ve got you” moments along the way. 🖤
