Saskpower Rate increase and projections:
Feb. 1, 2026 - 3.9%
Feb. 1, 2027 - 3.9%
Residential customers will see 5.00/month increase on average.
Farm customers will see 11.00/month increase on average.
Reasons for the increases are tied to infrastructure upgrades. Saskpower announced a 1.7 billion dollar investment for 2026 on transmission lines and nuclear investments.
Through Saskpower’s efficiency programs like Net Metering for solar power, they claim that to have saved 888 million since 2016.
Because of federal rebates and incentives from Saskpower and Saskatoon light and power, home owners in Saskatoon are also saving an average of 59500.00/25years.
If you want to know more about Solar and how you can save and stay inflation resistant from the rising energy costs, we can help you at Flash by providing free quotes and answering your questions.

We’ve officially passed the 50% mark on the Avana townhouse development, and this is where things get exciting.
We’re in that stage of the build where finishing work is starting in some buildings while rough-in is still underway in others. Multiple phases moving at once. Multiple crews coordinated. Zero room for missteps.
This overlap is where strong planning and communication matter most, keeping inspections on track, maintaining quality, and making sure every panel, device, and fixture is installed right the first time.
Huge credit to our team for staying organized and pushing momentum as the project shifts into high gear.

Welcome our New Senior Project Manager. With over 30 years in the electrical industry and 16+ years of experience in project management and estimating, Wes Noon brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise and proven leadership to the Flash Electrical team.
A certified red seal electrician, Wes has successfully led and contributed to some of Saskatchewan’s most complex and high-profile electrical projects. His portfolio includes the River Landing Condos and Towers, where he served as Project Manager and assisted with electrical distribution design, as well as the Wanuskewin Renovation and Addition, the World Trade Centre Building in Saskatoon (Stonebridge), and the Saskatoon Airport Baggage Handling Conveyor Upgrade (TSA).
Wes also brings extensive experience in critical infrastructure, having managed multiple wastewater treatment sites, SPS projects, University of Saskatchewan Cancer Centre bunker upgrade, and many other technically demanding environments where precision, coordination, and accountability are non-negotiable.
Beyond the job site, Wes is deeply connected to the community. During the winter months, he’s heavily involved in junior hockey, supporting athletes and community venues alike. In the summer, you’ll find him at the lake, spending time at his cabin, tackling renovation projects on his home and lake property, enjoying everything that comes with Saskatchewan summers.

Lighting Upgrades: Safety & Efficiency Where It Matters
If you manage or maintain warehouse floors, here’s why upgraded lighting should be on your radar:
Safer Workspaces: Proper, bright lighting reduces accidents. When every corner is well-lit, your team works safer and more confidently.
Energy & Cost Savings: LED upgrades can slash your energy bills significantly, freeing up budget for other critical needs.
Less Maintenance Hassle: LEDs last years longer than older fixtures. That means fewer bulb changes, less downtime, and more focus on what matters.
Better Productivity: Employees perform better in well-lit environments. Lighting impacts focus, accuracy, and morale.
A Modern, Professional Facility: Your warehouse or industrial space doesn’t just need to work well—it needs to look well-maintained, too. Modern lighting upgrades ensure your facility reflects the standards you hold.
When you care about safety, efficiency, and cost savings, lighting upgrades are a no-brainer.
Ready to see how upgraded lighting can transform your facility’s safety and bottom line? Let’s talk.

Did you know Saskatoon gets some of the best sunshine in Canada, making solar a smarter choice than many people realize? With increasing electricity costs and more tools to keep more of your energy dollars right here at home, going solar could make serious sense, even sooner than you think.
Here’s what people often don’t know:
✅ Generate your own electricity and reduce what you pay to the grid each month 💸
✅ If your solar system makes extra power, credit programs (net-metering) can work in your favour – lowering future bills or offsetting energy use ⚡💰
✅ Long-term ROI: Solar panels often pay for themselves through energy savings over their lifetime — and Saskatoon’s sunny conditions make that return stronger here than many places.
✅ Many homeowners and businesses still aren’t aware of provincial and local incentives that can reduce upfront cost — and that means now can be better than later 👇
🤔 Curious how much YOU could save — or what rebates and programs might apply to your home or business?
👉 Drop a comment or send us a message, we’re happy to break it down in plain language and help you understand what solar could look like for you!
Fun fact: Saskatoon gets over 2,400 hours of sunshine per year — that’s excellent potential for solar output!
Ask us about net-metering credits, financing options, and how solar can boost the value of your property!

Nothing says teamwork like the mechanical guys ‘helping out’ by cutting our wire for us.
Don’t worry, we’re used to this level of collaboration, and will have it sorted out quickly.

Progress update on our Avana project 👷♂️⚡️
We’re are moving quickly, our team has been working through tough winter conditions to keep this build moving. With the full electrical installation roughed in, we’re now into cut-ins and preparing to energize the buildings in the next couple of weeks.
Energizing is a major milestone, especially on a site facing cold temperatures, limited daylight, and no heat. Once power is live, the buildings can finally be heated, giving every trade on-site a safer, faster, and more efficient environment to work in.
Proud of our crew for their precision, work ethic, and commitment to excellence under pressure.

Ground plates vs. ground rods
Same purpose, different job sites. Rods are quick and cost-efficient, plates are perfect when the ground won’t let you drive a rod. Choosing the right grounding method keeps your electrical system safe.
