Yes.
According to Kelly Starrett, reclaiming mobility doesn’t require more gym time—just smarter daily positioning.
Spending 20–30 minutes on the floor each evening, moving through positions like squats, cross-legged sits, and rotational postures, can help reverse the stiffness caused by modern sedentary life.
He explains that without varied mechanical stress—known as mechanotransduction—your tissues degrade over time, much like captive animals that lose natural movement capacity.
A key test he promotes is standing up from the floor without using your hands, which reflects coordination, strength, and overall physical longevity.
By stacking this habit into your nightly routine, you can improve mobility, lower injury risk, and move better for life—get the full breakdown in the article.
Everything you do is a full body movement.
💯💯💯

This spring/summer will have a few changes on a main route to the clinic! Please make sure you know what is open and what is closed.
🚶 Did you know pedestrian access remains open on the south side of University Bridge?
Construction is now underway on College Drive and the University Bridge. While the bridge is closed to general traffic (sorry drivers), active commuters can continue to cross using the south side of the bridge.
Emergency vehicle access across the bridge to the hospital will be maintained throughout construction.
What you need to know:
• Pedestrians: North side of the bridge closed, south side remains open
• Drivers: University Bridge is closed and you will need to find another way across the river.
Plan ahead! For project updates, construction details and a pedestrian detour map, visit saskatoon.ca/CollegeDriveRelatedProjects
