Congratulations to all recipients of the Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit, recognized on May 6!
Together we celebrated people and programs that have strengthened learning and connection in our province. Thank you for the time, care, and work shared with others.

Today is Star Wars Day! You might wonder what Star Wars has to do with literacy. Well, it helps us learn about different ideas, and it encourages imagination and wonder.

It’s also good to help kids learn through something that interests them (why not Star Wars?). But did you know that Star Wars can even help explain how to build good, clear messages?

Today is International Dance Day! Dance carries meaning through movement, rhythm, and tradition. Every culture has forms of dance that share stories, culture, and knowledge.

Dancing and music bring people together and keep traditions strong.

Today is Earth Day. Literacy helps us learn about the planet and the knowledge connected to its lands. We share and use information in daily life, so our knowledge grows over time.

This week is National Volunteer Week! Volunteers support literacy programs for people across Canada. This work builds experience, advances literacy, and connects our communities.
