In his first few weeks, Joe has brought an incredible desire to learn and has already started building meaningful relationships.

He has been an absolute pleasure to have around the station, and we are all pumped for his team-first, collaborative leadership.

“I’ve loved CFCR since I moved to Saskatoon in 2013. The station introduced me to the city, the scene, new people, and most of all, great music. Being invited to serve as General Manager is an honour, and I’m ready to help build what’s next.

Over the years, I’ve partnered with non-profit and grassroots organizations across Canada, helping people work together toward shared goals. Along the way, I’ve learned that strong, diverse communities make all the difference, and CFCR is proof of that right here in Saskatoon.

In my first six months as GM, here’s where I’ll begin: I want to meet people, so please introduce yourself and introduce me to others. I’ll be working closely with the staff team to see how we can make things even better, and I’ll report back to the board to help prioritize our next steps.

I’m excited for what’s next, and I look forward to meeting you.”

Today marks the final day of work for Neil Bergen, CFCR’s outgoing General Manager! Neil has been a staple of our radio world and has made many long-lasting connections and friendships in the Community over that time.

“I’d like to thank every host, volunteer, and supporter who’s contributed to Community Radio over the last 20 years. It’s been a privilege to be the General Manager. The station is all about Community - without the volunteers there is no radio station. I’d also like to thank every staff and board member who have made the station what it is today. It’s been a great 20 years and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for Community Radio.”

Thankfully, Neil will continue to host his world famous edition of So Many Roads every Thursday from 10am ‘til Noon.

Requirements of a CRSS Board Member:
- Two-year Board term
- Attend monthly Board meetings
- Participate in the planning and implementation of policies and initiatives for Community Radio
- Contribute to the forward success of Community Radio in Saskatoon (and beyond!)
