Here is a gorgeous staircase completed recently. Proof that a small stairwell can have a BIG impact. Loving the mid-century, institutional look this customer was going for.

It was certainly a treat to work on this project and contribute so much to the front entrance of this home. Check out this combo!
Here we have Hickory railing and treads, paired with 6mm tempered glass on black glass clips and stair risers. Then, as if it needed to be any classier, we added a 2 x 4” Hickory slat wall for that extra sizzle 🔥

Here is a look that I would recommend. Terminating the spindles directly into the hardwood instead of having a bottom shoe! Though not possible with all flooring types, it can lend a super-clean appearance to your home.

12 or so years ago my grandfather and I built this circular stair for their cat, Gomer. They all thought we were crazy, but ol’ Gomie used this stair daily until he finally climbed the steps to kitty heaven last year.

Here we have more of a grey stain finish applied to the railing. It works well to cool down the very warm tones hickory has, while still letting some natural colors shine through. It works brilliantly with this flooring.

I’ve said it before, but a lot of times your railing is the first thing people see when they walk into your home. Let’s do it right!
