At first I wasn't completely satisfied with the technical aspects of the photos I took this day, but while editing them, we were able to take a step back from perfection and focus on the emotions of the day and lean in to making art out of such special moments.
I was awestruck by St. Joseph's Basilica in Edmonton. The soaring arches and stained glass windows were stunning (stained glass is one of my favorite things ever 🤩). I really got a sense of grandeur from their beautiful ceremony in this incredible space.
It was so fun running around in the rain together during portraits. Summer rain is some of my favorite weather. The colors are rich, the mood is cozy, and it just feels like a movie dancing and laughing under the thick clouds.

These are still some of my favorite photos from last summer! Adyson looked like an absolute disney princess and I had so much fun with her and her family celebrating her graduation!

What better way to celebrate my dearest friend's birthday than staring at these photos of her gorgeous self? 🎉 Aurora and I became fast friends when I was the new kid at school. We've shared so many laughs and tears and memories since then and I'm so so thankful we've been there for the big and small moments in each other's lives. There's so much I could say about Aurora. She's intelligent, kind, funny, caring, stylish, passionate. Plus she introduced me to the band Twenty-One Pilots so I owe her forever 🫶

The biggest thing I took away from this session was that Gus is a very very loved and cherished baby. I enjoyed watching his parents work together and dote on him. Every snuggle, look, and smile was filled with love for each other and little Gus. I've been doing more of these family newborn sessions and I'm so grateful for clients that trust me and welcome me into their homes in such a new and vulnerable time in their lives to witness their connection. 💖

Perfect Emberley 🩶
I had been looking forward to this newborn session for a couple months after Mum and Dad's maternity session in the rain! I feel incredibly lucky to get to snuggle such new babies. I love to take my time and study their tiny little features and point out similarities in the parents or siblings. This little lady was an absolute darling to spend time with and her mum and dad were the sweetest new parents 🥰
