Digital ID System Part 1

Hyperledger FireFly

uses Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) to represent identities within its multi-party system, with a custom DID method named "firefly" to resolve these identifiers.

Each identity is uniquely identified by a DID & is managed through a decentralized address book system that relies on claims & verifications.

The system supports three primary identity types: organizations (org), nodes (node) & custom identities (custom).

Organizations represent logical on-chain signing identities, typically tied to a blockchain key, and serve as the root for other identities.

Nodes represent off-chain identities associated with a data exchange connector, such as an X.509 certificate, and must be children of an organization identity.

Custom identities allow applications to define more granular identity concepts, such as customers or clients, and are also tied to on-chain verifiers like organizations.

To establish an identity, a party must first claim it via a special broadcast message, which is an on-chain transaction that includes a public reference to off-chain data describing the claim.

For root organization identities, this claim is a signed transaction from a blockchain account that binds the DID to a unique name and the signing key, which then becomes the identity's verifier.

For child identities, such as a custom identity under an organization, two messages are required: the claim signed by the new identity's key and a separate verification message signed by the parent identity's key.

This verification process confirms the hierarchical relationship between the parent and child identities.

Once claimed and verified, an identity is assigned a unique DID, such as did:firefly:org/org_1, and is stored within a namespace, which can be used to isolate data and operations.

The FireFly system allows for multiple namespaces within a single supernode, enabling independent configurations for different parties or use cases, such as consortiums or direct blockchain interactions.

An Alberta judge has TEMPORARILY halted the certification process for a petition aimed at forcing a referendum on provincial separation from Canada. Justice Shaina Leonard granted a one-month stay (as of April 10, 2026) following a legal challenge by First Nations groups regarding potential treaty rights violations.

What is paused: The pause stops Elections Alberta from verifying signatures and the group "Stay Free Alberta" from submitting them to the Justice Minister for the "Alberta Independence" initiative.

What continues: The collection of signatures can continue until the May 2, 2026, deadline.

Context: The challenge, brought by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Blackfoot Confederacy, argues that the separation petition process threatens Indigenous treaty rights.

Next Steps: The stay remains in place while the court hears arguments on the overall constitutionality of the petition.POWER STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS, A JUDGE JUST FROZE ALBERTA’S FUTURE… SO WHO REALLY RUNS THIS COUNTRY?

This is what just occurred, a judge, Justice Leonard, just stopped Alberta’s separation petition in its tracks. Not slowed it down, not “under review,” stopped.

This was moving through the Citizen Initiative Act, with Elections Alberta getting ready to move it forward, and now they legally can’t touch it.

Why? Because First Nations like the Blood Tribe, Piikani Nation, and Siksika Nation went straight to court and said you don’t get to push something this big, something that affects land, treaties, and rights, without dealing with us first.

Within twenty-four hours, the judge agreed on one thing that matters: this is serious, this is constitutional, and if it moves forward the wrong way, the damage could be irreversible. So everything is frozen.

Now here’s where people are getting this completely wrong. I’m seeing it everywhere, “how is 5% controlling 95%?” That’s not the question. That’s the reaction. The real question is simple, and nobody wants to say it straight: who actually decides when something this big happens? Is it the voters? Is it the politicians? Or is it the courts? Because right now, Canadians are not deciding anything. It’s definitely not the people signing petitions. It’s not even Alberta calling the shots. It’s judges, applying the Constitution Act, 1982, deciding whether the government, because that’s what this becomes once it runs through a formal process, has a legal duty to consult First Nations before this moves one inch further.

And let’s be clear, because this part matters. Private citizens don’t owe consultation. You signing a petition doesn’t trigger anything. But the second the government is involved, the second this becomes an official process with legal consequences, now the Crown is in it.

Once the Crown is in it, consultation becomes a constitutional issue. That’s not opinion. That’s how the law works in this country whether people like it or not. I’ve heard the stories too. People talking about land being taken back, about being pushed out, about something coming down the road. Emotions are high, people say things, but legally, there is no mechanism right now where someone shows up and takes your home or your city.

That’s not what this is.

What this is, is a fight over who has a say when the future of the country is being challenged, because separation isn’t just political, it hits Treaty relationships that were signed long before most of us were even here and are still protected today.

So here we are. Everything is paused. The courts are now deciding one thing that will change everything: does Alberta have to consult First Nations before moving forward with separation? If the answer is yes, this slows down hard and turns into a legal and political fight that can’t be ignored. If the answer is no, then the door opens and this moves fast. Either way, this isn’t just Alberta anymore, this is a national precedent.

So stop asking the wrong question. It’s not “how is 5% controlling 95%.” The real question is this, when the will of the people runs straight into constitutional law… who wins?
We’re about to find out.

Verizon Media was publicly tied to an event called the "Moloch Conference." That is the name that appeared in connection with a conference about a real surveillance and network analysis tool.

"Moloch" was the original name of an open-source packet capture and network traffic analysis platform. In plain English, it was built to collect, index, and search massive amounts of network data. Engineers tied to Verizon Media used it. Later, the name was changed to Arkime.

That matters, because words matter!!

Moloch is not some harmless, random label. In biblical and ancient Near Eastern tradition, Moloch is associated with child sacrifice. The name carries a dark history. It is tied to ritual offerings of children by fire. Whether someone wants to call that symbolic, historical, or theological, the meaning is not hard to find and it is not hard to understand.

So let’s be honest about what makes people stop and stare.

A major media and technology operation was connected to a conference built around a tool called Moloch. That tool was designed to capture and analyze huge volumes of network traffic. It was a harvesting system for data, visibility, and digital behavior. Then, after the public had time to notice the name, Moloch became Arkime.

That should disturb people.

Why would anyone choose a name historically linked to child sacrifice for a system built to harvest and search enormous streams of human data?

And in a country where children vanish every single year, that question should not be brushed aside.

When powerful institutions build tools to monitor behavior, map connections, and capture traffic at scale, people have every right to ask where the lines are, who draws them, and who benefits from the visibility.

This is why symbolism matters.
This is why naming matters.
This is why public trust matters.

They can say it was just a cybersecurity conference.
They can say it was just a software name.
They can say it was just technical language.

Fine!!

Then explain why the name was Moloch in the first place.
Explain why it had to be changed.

Even when they change a name, the underlying pattern can stay the same, carrying the same energetic frequency.

The Google Cybernetic Hive Mind Hyperreality Simulation
