Veterinary students engaging in socially accountable activities in their community

Today Prairie Harm Reduction provided Naloxone training and kits to 50 veterinary students at the WCVM. Naloxone is a life saving treatment that can be administered in the event of an opioid overdose.

Veterinarians are an important profession in the One Health paradigm, working at the junction of animal and human health. This training will help these future veterinarians to better address medical emergencies in their communities, increasing their role as medical professionals within diverse communities.

Thank you again to Prairie Harm Reduction for partnering with OVO to provide this training and for equipping students with Naloxone kits.

These gorgeous homes will be donated and deployed across Saskatoon to provide warm housing to lost, stray, and unowned cats. Thank you to everyone who participated and to Purina for they’re sponsorship!
