Today was the day I’ve dreaded. The day I’ve postponed. The day I’ve really wanted to skip.
Today… was chicken coop revamp day.

Why? Oh, so many reasons.
After years of chicken keeping, I’ve learned what I wish I had done differently—things that would’ve made life (and winter) way easier. Like smarter feeders. Better water setups. A design that’s easier to clean. And most of all… a fortress. Because this winter? We had an intruder.

Not just any intruder. A RAT.
At first, I thought it was a kitten. Or a squirrel. But nope—just a very large, very gross, very determined rat.
1. Ew.
2. EW.
3. GRRRROSSSS.

So, it was time. Time to fix it all. Time for the revamp.
Are the rats gone now? Yes. RIP, 😏😏

Honestly, I almost gave up on chickens altogether… almost.
But here I am, knee-deep in shavings, tools, and upgrades—because I just love those feathery freeloaders too much.

Now here’s the real shout-out:
My husband—who is not an animal lover (not even a little)—has spent his entire weekend helping revamp and secure the coop. After spending the whole winter fighting off rat visitors, he’s stepped up like a total rock star. Seriously, MVP husband vibes all around.

WE KAYAKED WITH MANATEES! ✨🚣‍♀️🐋

We took a Disney pause to embark on a wild (but peaceful?) adventure—kayaking through the crystal-clear waters of Crystal River, just two hours from Orlando, to hang out with the gentle giants of Florida! And let me tell you… these adorable floating potatoes did not disappoint.

From magical encounters to some mild kayaking chaos (because of course), this was an experience we will never forget! Come paddle along with us and witness the cuteness overload for yourself. 🛶💙

✨ Minnie Magic & a Core Memory Unlocked! ✨

Picture this: little me, wide-eyed, heart pounding, and practically vibrating with excitement as I run into the Minnie Mouse for the very first time. Back in those days, there were no scheduled meet-and-greets—you just happened upon characters like you stumbled into a dream. And let me tell you, it was pure, unfiltered, straight-to-the-heart Disney joy. My mom, in true hype-woman fashion, made sure I was extra excited, and to seal the magic, she bought me a Minnie stuffie to take home. Core. Memory. Locked. In.
(Christie this has to be your fault hahaha)

Now, fast-forward to today. I’m at the princess weekend expo, just casually soaking in the magic, not expecting to see Minnie. I figured there’d be some princesses, maybe a character or two, but MINNIE?! PRINCESS MINNIE?! Oh, Disney, you sneaky little dream-maker.

My brain: Hold it together. There are 10,000 people here.
My heart: LOL, good luck with that.

The second she turned, opened her arms, and welcomed me in for a hug—tears. Immediate. No stopping it. The crowd? Watching. Me? Hugging and absolutely sobbing into Minnie’s pink fluffy shoulder. I wanted cute photos. I got one. But mostly, I got a moment where that little girl in me got to have her full-circle, magic-filled, Minnie-loving, heart-bursting moment.

Disney, you get me. Every. Single. Time. ❤️✨

Our Disney adventure is wrapping up, but the magic we’ve lived will stay with us forever. My heart is overflowing, my brain feels like it’s been reprogrammed with pixie dust, and my feet? Well, they’ve run straight through the most enchanting miles of my life!

We’ve met so many beloved characters, embarked on unexpected side quests, and soaked in every sparkle of castle-lit Happily Ever After each night. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried (happy tears, of course), and we’ve been celebrated by Cast Members and fellow dreamers in ways that made us feel like part of something bigger—something truly magical.

It’s impossible to put into words the love, joy, and absolute wonder of this trip. But if Disney has taught me anything, it’s that the best stories never really end… they just leave you dreaming of the next chapter. ✨🏰💫

✨ We did it!! Our first ever Run Disney event! ✨

Was it magical? Beyond words. Was it unforgettable? Without a doubt. Was it warm? Absolutely not. (Seriously, Florida, we need to have a chat.)

But did a little frostbite stop the fun? Not a chance!

From the very first step—under a sky lit by fireworks that had me starting the race with happy tears—to the last stride past a glowing Spaceship Earth in the dark, this was pure Disney magic. Every mile was filled with music, energy, and characters straight out of a fairytale. Princes, princesses, and even the Evil Queen herself were there to cheer us on!

And the best part? Running side by side with my best friend, dressed as Lady and the Tramp, laughing our way through this incredible moment together. Because that’s what Disney magic is all about—adventure, friendship, and a whole lot of whimsy.

Would I do it all again? In a heartbeat. 🐾✨

Today was a huge PB for me! 🎉 I lifted over 8,000 lbs during my workout—what?! But the part I’m most proud of? I made it to the end of the weight rack. Yep, I maxed out with the 100 lb dumbbell!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be throwing around weights that heavy. I used to feel so intimidated by the gym, especially the weight section—it’s so male-dominated, and honestly, I had this silly little voice in my head telling me it wasn’t a space for me. But guess what? That voice was wrong.

I chose to be brave, to claim my space, and to prove to myself that I belong there just as much as anyone else. Today, I’m grateful for the strength in my body, the fire in my heart, and the courage to step out of my comfort zone.

To anyone out there feeling unsure or nervous about trying something new, I see you! Trust me when I say: You are stronger than you think, and you belong anywhere you choose to be.
