To all my clients and friends:

Earlier this year I slowed down/reduced my practice dramatically while I recovered from facial reconstruction surgery. I realize now that I actually needed much more time to heal than what I had anticipated. Thus, For the next year I am going to focus on my own health.

Too often practitioners end up sick and exhausted as we care for others. Our needs are often forgotten, or neglected , as we strive to hold compassion and care for those we are helping.

This year I basically collapsed from complete exhaustion and burnout. For those that may not know I have a significant inherited/genetic kidney disease (I get weekly or biweekly treatment), Lyme disease that was left untreated too long, I sustained a concussion last January and am dealing with multiple skeletal issues including a previous botched spinal surgery. I’m telling you all this , not for pity, but rather so that you may understand when I say I’m not well. Or when I ask for space.

For the next year I have decided to go on a “maternity leave” for my own body. I will heal and nurture my body as it tries to repair and heal. (Thank you to a sweet family member for suggesting this analogy).

It was beyond frustrating to be limited by these health issues, all so far beyond the control of lifestyle or choice, while giving my heart to care for others. Now I realize that I can’t continue with this destruction of my body.

I know some won’t understand this, others may resent it, but I do hope that most will hold compassion for me while I step back

Many beautiful blessings to you my friends.
I leave you with this inspirational bumble bee! They amaze me with unending strength and determination to do what they innately must do.
