Reverie Series (see them online at the link) - For the first time in a while, figures have returned to my work — abstracted, intuitive, and emotionally open. They don’t ask to be fully known, but rather felt. These forms are fluid, feminine, and free!

Creativity is limitless and it’s sad that commodification stagnates its full expression. We can change that though. It’s up to us to make things for the fun of exploring in new ways. Using unexpected colors, making chaos, playing with unexpected shapes or imagery. And, this is a big AND, we don’t have to share it with anyone else. It’s enough to make things that might be ugly, or pretty, or kitschy or chaotic simply for the pleasure of being in that creative state for a minute, or an hour or a day.
P.S. this can quickly become a very nourishing habit

Headed to a figure painting retreat this weekend—first time in years I’ve taken a class like this. I’m excited and feeling some of the “what if I’m not good enough?” thoughts bubble up. Surprising!

It’s a perfect reminder: learning something new is vulnerable. It asks us to be open, imperfect, and compassionate with ourselves. This is exactly the kind of inner edge we explore in the Wild Wisdom Circle. Our next session begins Tuesday (info in my profile links or say Yes, I’ll send it to you)—and just like I’ll be practicing with paint, we’ll be practicing presence, play, and self-kindness together.
