After 15 months since our 2023 production at Genesis Theatre and 2 years since our February 2023 workshop production at KinVillage Community Centre, we're bringing "the extraordinary lives of five ordinary women" to the North Delta Centre for the Arts from February 12-13 and to ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island for February 15.

More than anything, this show is about the power of listening and allowing space for the full nuance and complexity of a mother's life story and the choices we have with what we've inherited. Thank you to the ensemble for these past few years in show development of literally holding me as I've cried, trying every childhood snack I've brought in to share for rehearsal, and giving me time to gather the strength to share authenticity that costs me something outside of self-sacrifice in theatre.

In 2023 I received my formal Autism diagnosis from a Registered Psychologist. This was preceded by an informal screening from my RCC, a self-diagnosis, and several periods of serious Autistic burnout which made it necessary to figure out how to advocate for my support needs and receive reasonable accommodations in education and employment.

Pursuing a formal Autism diagnosis is an incredibly difficult, inaccessible, and expensive process. When I first chose to start navigating formal Autism diagnosis options in BC, it felt quite devastating. There are very few professionals who are qualified to diagnose Autism in adults, and those who are had full waitlists already. I was looking at a wait time of several several years before having a chance to even get on a waiting list for a private assessment, if I could even hope to get in at all.

But last year through an unbelievable stroke of luck, connections that I had made within the Neurodivergent community, and great persistence I was miraculously taken on as a client and completed the diagnosis process in less than a year! I'm incredibly privileged and grateful to my Neurodivergent-affirming psychologist & therapist for helping guide me through, and to my parents for participating in the interview parts of the very extensive diagnosis process.
