Seven members of Salisbury Fire Rescue have received special awards.

This week at the Town Council meeting, Fire Chief Brad MacLeod presented the members in attendance with the Green Cross Award in recognition of the department's response to an accident in which the Hurst Jaws of Life were used.
The recipients: Captains Roy Steeves and Ron MacEachern, and Firefighters Gilles Allard, Brandon MacLeod, Sean Ring, Justin Smith, and Stephen Stevens.

UPDATE 15:00 - Highway is OPEN.

Highway 2 westbound from Moncton to Salisbury is CLOSED. RCMP is working on diverting traffic. Please drive with caution and expect delays.

Due to a collision, Route 2 westbound is closed near km 437 (Boundary Creek). Expect delays if you are travelling in the area.

Salisbury Fire Rescue would like to send out a BIG Thank you to the Salisbury Guardian Drug Store for the donation of 100 cases of water.

This donation will make sure that our members stay hydrated while on active scenes. Hydration plays an important role in the recovery process by
-Improving performance
-Reduces Heat and cardiac risk
-Supports clearer thinking
-Helps with muscle recovery and fatigue.
