Definitely a "most immersive experience" for the books.
There's zero time with the orchestra to think about anything else. Sounds from all directions, following every movement of the conductor, syncing musical flow with musicians around you...
Reminded me -- immersion isn't entertainment. It's being so engaged that you're only in that moment.
This is what I want for folks who come to my concerts! 💛🕊️

Still smiles after this student concert!! Some live, some pre-recorded, everyone warmly applauding - supporting - appreciating each other's efforts. This is what music community is about, one of my fav parts of teaching. .

Wow this is a throwback. Photos by Nils Loewen. In Winnipeg, Sam’s Place Café.
14 years ago(!), with dear friend and colleague Scott Bergen— we played with music and peacemaking ideas through John Cage’s prepared piano and guided “chance” music, live painting and audience interaction.
Many co performers including Glenn Sawatzky pictured here.
Looking back, it’s actually still the same question, “how can I help music meet the audience, and create a tangible encounter?”
Stop the Clock’s continued this path!
Next show: JULY 12 , Saint John Arts Centre
