🧡 TRUTH and RECONCILIATION DAY 🧡
The Federal Government of Canada recently announced that September 30th, 2021 will be the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Since 2013, September 30th has been recognized as Orange Shirt Day as a way to create awareness of the tragic history of Indian Residential Schools and the long-standing effects on survivors, their families and communities.
Conscious that we operate on traditional territories of First Nations, we have asked our staff to wear orange today. This symbolic gesture is just one step on our long road toward reconciliation.
Non-Indigenous Canadians have a duty to inform themselves about the history of the land we call Canada. Start your learning journey this & National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by exploring these Indigenous-created resources: https://bit.ly/3kUuVyz
