We have created this graphic to show you why black-legged ticks are potentially dangerous in the spring. The ticks have a two-year life cycle and in the spring they are in the nymphal stage. These are pretty small, but are potentially infected with the bacterium that causes Lyme disease. When they feed on us or our pets, they can pass the infection on to us. Please be extra vigilant after you've been out in the long grass (and other similar habitats that the ticks love). Do a full body tick check when you come inside to make sure you don't have any ticks on you.

Black legged ticks are active again! For the month of May we will not be charging the $75 surcharge for a 48hr turnaround.

An Invasive New Tick Is Spreading in the U.S. The Asian long-horned tick, reported in New York’s suburbs and as far west as Arkansas, can carry lethal diseases. But no infected specimens have yet been found here.

We know that it is not nice to find ticks on your body but don't panic if you have one of these on you! This is a male American Dog Tick and - although quite disgusting - it cannot transmit Lyme Disease.
