Cakes For Kids Saskatoon is a wonderful organization that pairs volunteer bakers with families looking for birthday cakes that they might not otherwise be able to have for their children's birthdays. Every child deserves a birthday cake to celebrate their special day and it is a joy to be part of that experience!

As always DBS - Designs by Stacy knocked the superhero cake topper idea out of the park!! No matter what crazy ideas I throw her way, she always does an amazing job!!

The sicknesses have run rampant in my home over the last month. I have very little baking in an effort to take care of my little people and keep my home clean.
But when there was a break, I was able to create this super fun cake for a local firefighter birthday. This was so fun and I was given some creative license to make it with a few suggestions!

It is with sadness that I will not be attending the Rosthern Craft and Gift Sale 2023 this coming Saturday. Influenza appears to have entered my home and so I am dealing with sick kiddos instead of baking. I am hoping to still have one more home bake sale before Christmas but I will keep you posted!

Hello all! I thought I would clarify some things. I am still going on a break from custom baking, however, I have items that were commissioned before I made my announcement. I also still bake for family and friend functions and the odd bake sale. I am sorry if this was misleading anyone. I still enjoy sharing what I create and hope you will still enjoy seeing it.

This wedding cake was a special one to make! The bride and groom had a games themed reception and requested their wedding cake to be something themed too. The groom also created the image for the cake topper which includes his and her initials. What a neat idea!

Cookie dough and Reese's peanut butter cups? Yes please!! The inside contains rich chocolate cake layers and sandwiched between in the chocolate buttercream is even more cookie dough and Reese's pb cups 🤤

This past weekend marked the end of my wedding cake season and I love the gold accents! Gold foil is not for the faint of heart but some abstract vision helps the process.

The cupcake boxes are delivered late to Friesen's Bigway today unfortunately so they will likely only be in the case tomorrow. But hopefully because they're cute Halloween ones, it'll make up for the delay.
These are just simple chocolate and vanilla and deliciously fun!

Part two of this weekend included Supersonic!

Part of being a buttercream decorator is finding creative ways to incorporate elements that fondant cake decorators can do more easily such as Sonic's ears and hedgehog spines.
For this cake, I coloured some white chocolate and shaped accordingly. Chocolate holds it shape and is sturdy so it's the best for me to use in these situations.
