The Sharing Farm
Our community farm grows food for the Richmond Food Bank on 4.5 acres in Richmond, BC with dedicated volunteer support. We grow food. We grow farmers.
We grow community. The Sharing Farm grows food to feed Richmond families in need. The Farm is run by community members for community members, and is dedicated to providing fresh, healthy, local produce to our less fortunate neighbours. The Sharing Farm operates on a small budget, but thanks to the generosity of our over 1,000 yearly volunteers and the devotion of a small core of part-time staff, T

Meet Jules, our Volunteer Coordinator & Farmstand Lead! 🥕
Jules was raised in Tampa, Florida by Chinese-Canadian and French immigrant parents, whose love language is food. Before joining The Sharing Farm, Jules worked as a baker and barista while organizing for climate action in their hometown. Now in their final year of a BSc in Environmental Sciences at UBC, they bring that same passion for sustainability and community to the farm every day.
At the Sharing Farm, Jules strives to bring a positive energy and exciting experience to anyone willing to learn about the farm or get their hands dirty. They believe a tangible connection to the land we live and grow food on is core to understanding how to protect our planet for future generations.

This National Indigenous Peoples Day we celebrate those whom we have had the privilege of building relationships with over the years at the Sharing Farm.
Our growing collaboration with Musqueam has been one of the most meaningful developments of the last few years. From the Musqueam markets to shared meals and workshops, our team reflects fondly on these times together and looks forward to more in the future.
The Sharing Farm is located on the traditional, ancestral, unceded and asserted territory of the xʷmə𝜃kʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. Our organization is very grateful to live, work, farm and play on these lands and waters.

Meet Amanda, our Processing & Seeding Coordinator! ☀️
Amanda grew up as a city girl with the dream of becoming a marine biologist. While she did dabble in that field for a bit, it wasn't until she went to the lands of the Blackfoot people of the Canadian Plains (so-called Lethbridge, Alberta) to work in agricultural laboratory research that she was exposed to the possibilities of a career in agriculture.
Driven by a desire to help build a more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable food system, Amanda completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture at KPU and g*ined hands-on experience working on small-scale farms along the way. She is now entering her third season with The Sharing Farm!

We had a great time at the Spul’u’kwuks Elementary Summer Carnival last weekend! ☀️
Our team loved connecting with families in the community through our seedling guessing game and sharing more about what we do at the Sharing Farm. And enjoying some potato tornado snacks, of course!
We’re always so grateful for opportunities to meet more folks in our neighbourhood and welcome people out to the Farm. Hope to see you there soon!
