2016.
I owe a lot to 2016. It was probably the most important year of my life.

It was the year I decided to only do things that make me happy. It was the year I left The Netherlands. It was definitely the year of the Selfie stick. I was so passionate about sharing how you can find your happiness, and you don’t have to be rich to see the world. That you can stay healthy if you put the effort in.

It was the year where I had a six pack, moved to Australia, and traveled the States and lived in a mini-van. It was the year I met Canada for the first time. It was The year of my first overnight backpacking trip and I realized I need to live in the mountains. It was the year I jumped out of a plane, swam with whale sharks, dolphins and sat on many ledges.

I learned how to rely on myself and I was proud to be me. 10 years later I’m reaping of what I sowed back then, and I’m so thankful to my young self that I went on that journey! 🙃

I don think I’ve ever taking this many photos of myself 😂 that era is over now and I’ve gotten more focussed on other ppl. However I’m convinced that, in order to grow, I needed to go through a me-phase. So here’s a throwback to many selfies!

I love life so much and I’m so proud of how it has turned into what it is. Never in a million years could I have dreamed of the every day adventures we get to live.

I love my friends that make the adventures turn into memories, and I love that they love me back!

I also can’t let this caption go by without mentioning how special makes me feel every day, and how lucky I am to experience love like this. It has thought me that I am capable of loving unconditionally, even though I never thought I would. Everyone deserves a Tom in their lives 🥰

Fun weekend of racing in Whistler. After naggy ankles for the last 4 years I’ve finally been able to run pain free this summer. Impulsive decision to sign up for 25km race with 1780m of elevation, cause why not. I was going in with 0 expectation and would be happy with 5 hours. Surprised myself with a 3:33h time . Now it tastes like more 😄. Tnx and for letting me tag along, for the inspiration for the coupla snaps!

O b s e s s e d

No rain, no flowers. We definitely had rain this year, so, naturally, we had flowers! These last couple of weeks have been so fun, spending as much time in the alpine as possible . From an accidental 56km, 15h, 2700m day to intended “leisure” rides on keystone and Frisby. Even threw a day of running with my man in the mix 💚
