What Happens After the Mistake? 06/03/2026

What Happens After the Mistake?

A friend of mine, who I’ll call Martha, shared this story with me.

She went outside to paint the shed and her 8-year-old granddaughter, Patty, wanted to help. Martha was careful about which tasks Patty would do.

They started by sanding the siding. At one point Patty noticed a nail sticking out and called Grandma over to help. Martha decided to use it as a teaching moment. She brought out a hammer and punch and showed Patty how to pound the nail in properly.

Martha went back to sanding while Patty tried it herself. After a few attempts, she missed the punch with the hammer and put a hole in the siding instead.

Patty immediately started to cry. To read more…

What Happens After the Mistake? Children are always learning …not just from what we teach, but from how we respond when things go wrong. This story is a reminder that emotional safety can turn mistakes into moments of growth.

Stuck on Repeat? Let’s Talk Patterns

Ever feel like you’re doing the work… but nothing’s really changing?

We’ve all been there. Same situations. Same reactions. Same outcomes.

That’s not bad luck…it’s patterns.

Patterns are just things we repeat. Some help us move forward.

Others keep us stuck.

When a pattern works…to read more:

The Hardest Thing We Deal With 05/19/2026

The Hardest Thing We Deal With

When we think about the hardest things we’ve dealt with, our minds usually go straight to life events. Breakups. Loss. Health or financial challenges.

Those things can be hard. But what actually makes them hard?

Everything we move through in life happens one step at a time. One day at a time.

Some experiences feel easy. Some feel heavy. But the real challenge isn’t always the life event. It’s what’s happening in our mind while we’re going through it.

We can be doing something we want to do…and still feel resistance. Why?

Because our thoughts jump in.

I experienced this daily when I was writing my book. Thoughts telling me, ‘We need to do this. We should be taking care of that. We’ll never get this done.’

Sound familiar?

Our mind is always trying…to read more:

The Hardest Thing We Deal With It’s not just the difficult events that make life feel hard. Learn how to stop getting pulled into the ongoing thoughts and start responding differently to life.

Where Confidence Really Comes From 05/12/2026

Where Confidence Really Comes From

Think back to the last time you didn’t feel very confident. Maybe you were trying something new or dealing with something that felt really difficult.

Do we need to have confidence before we do something…or do we gain confidence by doing it? And what exactly do we need to have confidence in?

You may recognize yourself in the following experience.

My husband Jimmy was excited to rent a table at a gun show. He wanted to sell some of the non-restricted fi****ms he no longer needed. While preparing for the show, he discovered there had been changes to the regulations for selling those kinds of fi****ms. The new rules required prior approval from the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) before any sale could take place.

It didn’t take long for his excitement to disappear. To read more:

Where Confidence Really Comes From Confidence doesn’t come from knowing everything or having all the answers. It comes from trusting ourselves enough to show up and take the next step. Through awareness and experience, we discover that confidence grows naturally as we move through challenges and learn along the way.

What Our Body's Holding Onto 05/06/2026

What Our Body’s Holding Onto

Along my journey, I’ve learned many things about how the physical body functions. Some of those ideas didn’t make sense to me at the time, and I chose not to believe them. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of a different perspective about our physical bodies.

First, we’re a Soul having a human experience. By the grace of the Divine, we’re here to live and experience life. In order to do that, we have mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and energetic bodies.

Every day, we experience thoughts and feelings in response to what’s happening around us. Some are positive and some negative.

What happens to the thoughts and feelings…to read more:

What Our Body's Holding Onto Our physical body acts as a container for the thoughts and emotions we carry, especially those that remain unresolved over time. By becoming aware of what we’re holding inside, we’re guided toward healing, release, and a deeper sense of peace within.

Learning to Care Less About the Wrong Things 04/30/2026

Learning to Care Less About the Wrong Things

Have you ever worried about how you looked or came across to the point where you started fussing over the smallest things…driving yourself a little crazy?

Recently, I noticed myself doing exactly that.

I couldn’t get my hair the way I wanted…frustration. Crumbs on the floor…my mind made it a big deal. Even something I said…I started picking it apart.

Each time, I caught myself saying, “I don’t care.”

But the more I said it, the more irritated I became. That got my attention. What was I really not caring about?

As I slowed down and became aware of my thoughts, I saw something clearly:
I had been caring a lot about how I looked, how I sounded, and what others might think of me.

No wonder I felt unsettled.

In reflecting, I could see how…to read more:

Learning to Care Less About the Wrong Things Trying to control how we’re seen by others can quietly pull us out of balance and leave us feeling emotionally upset. When we begin to care less about external perception and more about our inner awareness, we step into the truth of what it is to experience self-care.
