Next US DOT HOLIDAY up is this Friday, June 19th. It is called June Nineteenth Day. The vast majority of US DOT offices are closed however there are no restrictions. If you require permits for Friday, please let our office know with enough notice to be able to obtain the permit, especially if it is a state that must go to DOT for approval. If the permit isn't received by end of day on Thursday, then it won't be issued until Monday.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND to all our friends and family in the USA. This weekend is a travel restricted weekend for oversize and/or overweight permitted loads. In many jurisdictions, travel stops today at noon until Tuesday at sunrise. Please check your permits for travel allowances. In most cases it is regardless of the size of your load. Please plan accordingly.

This Friday, April 3rd is Good Friday. In Canada, it is a full closure and travel restricted. In the USA, only a couple US states have travel restrictions with the vast majority are open. Our office will be open for this holiday. Easter Monday is fully open and no restrictions on travel.

ILLINOIS - NOTICE OF WIDTH RESTRICTION: I-24 at the IL/KY line over the Ohio River will be limited to 10'06" starting 3/1/2026 until 10/13/2026. THIS IS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS!

SPRING RESTRICTIONS STARTING!!! First up: Michigan:

Effective 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunk line highways from the Indiana/Ohio Border north to and including US-10 in Ludington in Mason County from the M-116 intersection then east to US-127 in Clare County then north on US-127 to M-61 then east on M-61 ending at the intersection of US-23 in the City of Standish, Arenac County.
State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, or US designations. Weight restriction information and updates may be obtained by calling 1-800-787-8960. For companies located in Canada or New Jersey, information may be obtained by calling 517-335-0023.
- On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.
- On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be a weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.
Extended permits will be valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.
Single trip permits will not be issued for overweight loads or loads exceeding 14 feet in width, 11 axles and 150 feet in overall length in the weight restricted area.

Monday February 16th, is a North American Holiday. In Canada it is Family Day and in the USA it is President's Day. All DOT's are closed for this holiday but there aren't any travel restrictions. In addition, Missouri is closed this Friday February 13th for Lincoln's birthday. Please plan accordingly.
