Anti-social Much?
Anti-social behaviors are becoming the normal it seems. I've noticed that a lot of the youth, I talk to these days have a hard time making eye contact. It’s not only the young, but many adults have a hard time with it. I just assumed they were nervous or felt intimidated.
I was, at one time, a very shy person who finally overcame that barrier. When I’ve spoken at school “career days” I always share the story about how many doors can be opened because you are a good public speaker and don’t get overwhelmed or nervous in public situations.
Many careers are based around public speaking and you don’t want to shut yourself out of those opportunities, whether it’s teaching, politics, public relations etc. You want to keep all your options open. To achieve that you must be able to confront and engage with others. There are courses for this, such as Toast Masters, or with time you just might be able to overcome your fear of public speaking.
Many believe that claustrophobia or arachnophobia are the biggest fears. I have news for you….it is public speaking. Overcome that and the possibilities are endless.
My concern is that society is making us more anti-social than we should be. I came across this and realized everything on this list is true. Do yourself or your kids a favor and teach them that public engagement is ok because social skills are on the decline

Happy Pi Day.🤓😋🍕🥧 MMMmmmmm
Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant π (3.14). It is celebrated in countries that follow the month/day (m/dd) date format, because the digits in the date, March 14 or 3/14, are the first three digits of π (3.14). Pi Day was founded by Physicist Larry Shaw in 1988.
Simply put, Pi is a mathematical constant that expresses the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It is part of many formulas used in physics, astronomy, engineering and other fields, dating back thousands of years to ancient Egypt, Babylon and China.

Tomorrow is Red Cross Pink Shirt Day.
This initiative started in 2007, when a grade nine student in Cambridge, Nova Scotia was bullied by classmates for wearing a pink shirt to school. Taking notice, two students rallied their peers to send a message to the bullies. The next day, the halls were filled with students in pink T-shirts.
This whole movement is because two boys chose to do something about bullying rather than stand by and watch it happen. This day is to educate and inspire others to stand together and take action against violence and bullying.
Harvard Media is proud to present “A Pink Shirt Day Discussion” in support of Kids Help Phone!
– Join the Pink Shirt Day Discussion livestream on Wednesday, February 28th featuring influential panelists discussing how bullying impacted and continues to impact their lives.
-The host and panelists will all share their personal stories and open the floor for a virtual Q&A session whereby classrooms and participants can submit discussion questions.
-The link to watch will be on our events page at 620ckrm.co

Always making new friends and I ran into a big fan of 620 CKRM today. Say hi to Weston Martinuk of Grenfell. Weston came by with his family for a tour of our studios today. Always great to meet our fans no matter the age. With all the questions he had, I'm pretty sure he'll get into radio someday as an engineer or some other capacity.
