This is Huge for Sask! The first of its kind!

🌟Big news for lung health in Saskatchewan!🌟
Thanks to a Connections Mobilize Grant from Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), Lung Saskatchewan is building a new web-based radon mapping tool—designed to provide a visual of radon levels across the province.

💻 This first-of-its-kind tool will use radon test data from over 550+ unique locations to create a visual map of radon levels in Saskatchewan. This tool will help raise awareness, education, and ultimately reduce the risk of radon-related lung cancer in our communities.

📍 Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and Saskatchewan has some of the highest levels in the world. We’re proud to be working toward a healthier future.

Thank you, SHRF, for investing in lung health innovation. 👏

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Luana's loved ones.

We are sad to announce the passing of Luana Hiebert, a dedicated Lung Ambassador who advocated for radon awareness and education.

Two days after Christmas in 2023, Luana was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. She had always led an active, healthy life—hiking, biking, and didn’t smoke. Cancer was the last thing she expected. After her diagnosis, she tested her home and discovered high radon levels.

Instead of staying silent, Luana used her voice to make a difference. She shared her story in videos, media interviews, and awareness campaigns, determined to protect others from the dangers of radon. In her words, “Lung cancer is often caught too late, and I want to change that. Let this be the good that comes from my journey. If sharing my story helps just one family avoid what I’m going through, it will have been worth it. Please test your home for radon to keep you and your family safe.”

Luana’s impact continues to inspire change. We are deeply grateful for her courage and passion for helping others and honoured to carry on her commitment to radon awareness.

Our thoughts are with Luana’s family, and we appreciate the kindness they’ve shared throughout her journey.
