IF PRRD WERE EVIL

If Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte were truly evil, why would people take to the streets to protest his illegal arrest and abduction?

Why would victims of criminal elements speak out in his defense?

Why would drug rehabilitation patients advocate for him, especially considering the hundreds of thousands he helped rehabilitate during his term? Did human rights watchdogs ever acknowledge this?

If PRRD were a monster, why would people demand his return to his homeland? Why would Filipinos across Europe and around the world rally to urge authorities to bring him back?

Why would ordinary Filipinos fight so fiercely for his freedom and justice?

If Rodrigo Duterte were evil, why did it hurt to see him go?

Because he is not.

If evil had a face, it certainly was not Rodrigo Duterte.

He did what was necessary to protect the law-abiding, the innocent, and the ordinary citizens who had nowhere else to turn but to their government.

When Filipinos had no one else to rely on, Rodrigo Duterte rose to the occasion. And that is something generations of Filipinos will never forget.

Damn the false narratives, lies, and propaganda. PRRD will always be remembered as our protector—one who showed his fangs and roared each time evil reared its ugly head.

He was the same leader who once said, "Look beyond my epithets, and you will see the Filipino in suffering."
