Canadian Fire Rescue College
Canadian Fire Rescue College is a nationally recognized fire academy delivering industry-aligned training for future firefighters.
Through immersive, hands-on instruction, we prepare students to enter the fire service ready, confident, and capable.
Hose work is one of the foundations of the fire service.
For Class 262, that means learning the details, building muscle memory, and getting the reps in. Deployments, rolls, folds, handling, control, and the practical skills that support safe, effective fireground operations.
Strong fundamentals matter. Every evolution starts with the basics.

Reading smoke. Controlling airflow. Coordinating the attack.
During NFPA 1001 Level I & II training, students are introduced to the critical role of ventilation on the fireground, including horizontal ventilation techniques used to help improve visibility, reduce heat and support interior fire attack operations.
In live fire training environments, timing, communication and coordination matter. Ventilation must be performed with purpose and in alignment with the overall incident action plan, giving students the opportunity to understand how their actions impact fire behaviour, crew safety and operational effectiveness.
At Canadian Fire Rescue College, students don’t just learn the theory. They apply it in realistic, hands-on training scenarios designed to build confidence, discipline and fireground awareness.
