The Beechgrove Rink

This coming Saturday Feb 21st 2026.

The Mohr and Kelly families are proud to announce the renaming of the Beechgrove rink to:

“””GORDIE MOHR RINK”””

We will be unveiling the new sign at 2pm.

We will have Coffee and Hot Chocolate and cookies.

We will also have a donation jar for the rink. Or will except fire wood also. 😎

Weather looks awesome for Saturday.

Please come out for a skate before.

We’ve been holding out on posting any updates due to the up and down weather the last month, but the Beechgrove Rink is ready to go!

If you have any kids at home with the PD Day the rink is a perfect spot to burn off some energy.

The ice is back up and running for a skate today!

With the warm weather, we ask if everyone could please stay off the ice for Thursday and Friday. We hope to have the ice back to great conditions by the weekend. Thank you!! 😊

WE’RE OPEN!!! 🎉 After an unusual warm start to winter and many hours of hard work, our beloved rink is now open for skating!!

Please note that until the door is repaired that the nighttime lights are not available, but we’re working on getting that fixed soon!

THANK YOU to our wonderful local volunteers (you know who you are!) for getting the rink ready for the 2024 season. New memories ready to be had for another generation. 🏒⛸️🥌

It is with disappointment we let you know the heated shack at our rink is closed for use until further notice. Last night someone attempted to kick in the door while it was closed and locked for use.

We attempted to fix short term but unfortunately cannot even open the door without a crowbar. We regret to tell you this news BUT as per Beechgrove spirit, it will be fixed ASAP and useable for all the kids (young and old) soon! A few bad apples WILL NOT ruin it for others! ⛸️

While we understand times are tough, this rink is funded and worked on by volunteers. Over the last 24 hours, someone has come and stolen all of the wood used to heat the shack that helps to keep the kids warm while they put their skates on.

We are very sorry for this news and hope to be able to replenish the wood soon. If anyone knows of anyone who suddenly has a new pile of wood, we’d appreciate you telling them the disappointment they bring to the community.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED - the recent warm weather has forced us to close the rink for now. By staying off the ice, we’ll have a better chance of getting it up and running again when the weather turns cold. Thank you for the understanding! ☀️
