Catch us under the canopy! 🌳🪵🔥🐿️🐞🌲🍄🏕️
Our Once Upon a Forest facilitators, Lewis and Bethany, have been busy learning, exploring, and practicing all things nature-based! 🌿
From hikes, sit spots, story stones, and nature art to knot tying, shelter building, fire making, foraging, and wood whittling, we’ve been building the skills and confidence needed to create meaningful outdoor experiences for our campers.
We can’t wait to share these adventures, lessons, and connections with our Once Upon a Forest community this summer! 🌲✨

Making learning fun isn’t just about planning activities that teach skills… it’s about connection. 🌿✨
It’s about getting to know each child, discovering what lights them up, and using those interests to guide how we teach. When kids feel seen, understood, and excited about what they’re learning, everything changes.
At our literacy enrichment program, we don’t just teach reading, we build relationships, spark curiosity, and create experiences that kids actually enjoy. Because when learning feels meaningful, it sticks. 💛📚

This summer, learning comes to life at The Woods 🌿📚
Our summer literacy enrichment program, offered by OELF and funded by NB SEED, uses an evidence-based, multisensory, play-based approach to help children grow their skills and confidence. Through hands-on exploration, we focus on phonics, reading fluency, and spelling, all while fostering a love of learning in a natural setting.
We are excited to work with School District ASD-S, for the second summer in a row, to help identify children who could benefit the most from this program. Registration is by school referral only. Families will be contacted directly if their child has been nominated to attend. If spots remain after initial nominations, we will offer remaining spots to current enrichment students and then to the public.
