Our graduating artist of the week, Will Rice, designed a large mural for Kennebecasis Valley High School’s 50th anniversary celebration. Will came up with the grand idea, matched paint colours, and did a lot of measuring over the past few months. He dedicated himself tirelessly to completing this in time for our open house. If you walk down this hall in the Science Wing you are greeted with our original KVHS logo; turning the corner you will see our new Blue Knight has made it to the moon, symbolizing all we’ve accomplished as a school over the last half century. The size of the art speaks volumes to the Will’s creativity, dedication and heart. The mural culminates with one sentence to reflect on: “What’s Next?” Will would like to thank those who assisted with painting: Jack Calp, Cole Milne, Aiden McIntyre, Ethan Halpine, Dax Fraser, Christian Reid, Kaiden Christie, Hendry Alexandre, Aiden Rolfe, and Anna Welsford.
And, here's round 2 of painted pinch pot creations from grade 9s you just have to see. Student creativity was on full display with these expertly crafted creatures. Swipe through to see Sophie Byer's marshmallow buddies, Sydney Nesbitt's elephant, Kate Yoston's French pig, Sarah Hanlon's strawberry pot, Cameron Fowlow's cow, and Dylan Hicks' reading turtle.

In Grade 9 this week we couldn't pick just one! They really popped off with their pinch pot clay creatures. This first featured group decided to paint rather than glaze, which gave them full creative license to mix their own colours that truly highlight the personalities of each creation. Swipe through to see all: Leah Pomeroy's dinosaur, Elizabeth Rice's bunny, Cali Lisson's mouse, Kara Macintosh's koala, Lauren Willet's mini Will Byers, Maggie Stacey's mushroom, and Diana Bodayeva's penguin.

This week we would like to celebrate Grade 11 artist Eve Peters! Eve is determined to explore every creative possibility she can imagine. Whether she’s painting original designs on her own clothing, creating a powerful dragon mural of our school mascot knight facing anxiety, or producing expressive figure drawings, her creativity knows no boundaries. Her mind is constantly overflowing with ideas, and she works tirelessly to bring them to life one project at a time. Eve studied in the portfolio development program at the SJ Arts Centre this year and was featured in the Ax Art gallery in Sussex this month. We can’t wait to see where her next idea takes her.
The last photo of Eve features her with her table mates and continues to showcase other Grade 12 classmates with work they are proud of.
