๐ธ Throwback Thursday!
Did you know that Sobeys was once located at Rothesay Corner?
This photo, taken in the 1960s, shows what grocery shopping looked like in the heart of Rothesay more than half a century ago. It's amazing to see how much the community has changed over the years while still holding onto so much of its history.
For those who grew up here, do you remember shopping at this location? What are your memories of Rothesay Corner back then?
Thank you to the Rothesay Living Museum for preserving and sharing this wonderful piece of local history.

Advance polls are open today in the KV area, and it only takes a few minutes to cast your vote.
Weโre proud to support members of our local community who are willing to step up and make a difference. Dave Brown brings years of experience, strong community ties, and a genuine commitment to being there for residents.
If youโre voting in the Rothesay area, please consider supporting Dave Brown.
Rothesay has always been more than just a place to live for me, itโs home.
My family has been part of the Kennebecasis Valley for four generations, and that connection has given me a deep appreciation for this community, where weโve come from, and where weโre headed.
Many people know me through my work as a local business owner. Over the years, my family and I have built and operated several businesses here in Rothesay, which has given me a practical understanding of both the opportunities and challenges within our community.
Iโve also had the opportunity to serve on council last term, where I learned firsthand the importance of being present, listening, and staying connected to the people I represent.
I believe in being accessible and approachable. If someone has a question or concern, they deserve a response. Open communication matters, and Iโve always encouraged people to reach out, connect, and have those conversations.
I also care deeply about supporting all members of our community, including our aging population, and ensuring Rothesay continues to be a place where people feel supported and valued.
I remain committed to being a strong and steady voice for the community, grounded in experience, communication, and a genuine connection to the people who call Rothesay home.

While weโre based in Quispamsis, we love supporting whatโs happening across the Valley. The signs are up in Rothesay, and weโre wishing David all the best this election season. If youโre voting there, we hope youโll consider supporting him. ๐ฅฐ
Looks like even Iโm keeping an eye on myself this election season.๐
All jokes aside, the signs are up and Iโm proud to be putting my name forward again for Rothesay Town Council. Over the past term, itโs been an honour to serve this community, to listen, to learn, and to be part of the progress weโve made together.
Rothesay is a special place, and I care deeply about where weโre headed. Thereโs still more work to do, and Iโd be honoured to earn your support and your vote.
If youโd like a sign, just reach out (506-647-0866), Iโd be happy to drop one off, and if you see me around, please stop and say hello. I always enjoy the conversation.

Community is at the heart of everything we do in the valley. Always great to see Rothesay coming together and supporting one another.
Great turnout at foghorn tonight, thanks for all councillors who came. With a special guest appearance from Mayor Matt

Itโs a good thing we donโt have to go to Kingston like this anymore!
This photo is of Reverend A.W. Daniel and others on their way to a special service at Kingston Church on the peninsula.
Thank you to the Rothesay Living Museum for this photo!๐

Weโre proud to share that Dave Brown is running again for Rothesay Town Council.
Dave is someone who has deep roots in our community, with a family history here that spans generations. That kind of connection matters, because it shows in how he approaches both people and progress.
On a personal level, when I first started Curwin Business Centre, Dave was one of the people who stepped forward with encouragement and support. He didnโt have to, but he chose to, and that speaks volumes about who he is. Since then, he has continued to support not just my business, but many others throughout the valley.
What stands out most is that Dave genuinely cares. He believes in growth, but more importantly, in the right kind of growth, the kind that strengthens all of our communities in the valley while still preserving what makes us special.
He supports local. He shows up. And when he says he is going to do something, he follows through.
That kind of integrity and commitment is something all our communities benefits from, and it is something I am proud to stand behind.
Wishing Dave all the best in his re-election.
I am announcing today that I am running for re-election for a second term as a councillor for the Town of Rothesay..
Our family has lived in the KV area for generations. We have always been proud to call Rothesay our home and running for Council is my way of giving back. I have a passion for preserving our town's character while at the same time promoting sustainable growth for our residents.
I have been an entrepreneur most of my life, and that experience gives me the tools to face the many challenges that can occur as a member of the Rothesay Town Council.
But I do need your support. Want to join my team? Phone or text me at 506-647-0866. You can also find me on Facebook at โ Dave Brown for Rothesay Town Councilโ. Please share my information, and thank you for your support.

What a wonderful initiative that will provide meaningful support to families navigating unimaginable loss. Community spaces like this matter deeply, and it is encouraging to see local organizations and leaders working together to create compassionate resources. I hope many people across the region will support and benefit from this important resource.
Quispamsis would like to recognize the Compassionate Grief Centre, which plans to open a Grief Cafรฉ at the Kennebecasis Public Library / Bibliothรจque publique de Kennebecasis in the spring for grieving parents who have suffered the loss of a child.
This will add to the centreโs existing lineup of Grief Cafรฉs taking place throughout the region.
Quispamsis is supporting the development of the new Grief Cafรฉ with a contribution of $2,000 through its Community Investment Program.
Libby O'Hara- Mayor of Quispamsis (right) presented the cheque to Compassionate Grief Centre Community Engagement Supervisor Audrey Langlais in a recent ceremony.
We look forward to updates on your program!
