Find of the week: a big plastic bucket lid perfectly stuck in a sewer line, first making you wonder how it got there, and then how to get it out.πŸ‘€β€‹

To restore proper flow, technicians would use a pipe reaming robot: a cutter-equipped robotic system designed to break through solid obstructions such as roots… or plastic lids. Once the blockage is removed, the pipe is cleaned using a high-pressure nozzle to flush out all remaining debris.

A big thanks to field technicians who work everyday to keep our networks running smoothly!πŸ‘·πŸ¦Ύ

Our latest use case is live! As the maintenance season kicks back into high gear, we want to wish the South Fork Sewer District team successful inspections in the Silver Valley, and a special thanks to Pete, District Manager, for taking the time to share his feedback:

''Before adopting the ZIPCAM 360, our approach was to clean about one-third of the network early in the season, then return later to perform inspections with our CCTV system.

Today, inspection is integrated directly into every cleaning operation. We now systematically follow each cleaning with a quality check. It gives us a much more complete picture of the overall condition of our sewer network.''

The No-Dig event is wrapping up in Palm Spring, and Samuel and Mike had the chance to connect with engineers, asset managers, and sewer inspection professionals asking sharper questions than ever.🦾

Key themes kept coming up on the floor including workforce efficiency, data lifecycle, and integrated tools.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked tough questions, and shared what's happening in your sewer systems. These exchanges make us better at what we do!πŸ’§οΈβ€‹

What’s better than a good moment between colleagues around a manhole! πŸ‘·β€‹

In the photos, you can see Cole, Customer Success Manager, and Xavier, our videographer, during a shoot with the DIPCAM, our new manhole inspection solution that complements our product lineup. Designed to be manually lowered into manholes, the DIPCAM captures UHD 360Β° images of the interior in just a few minutes using its powerful integrated lighting.

For those curious, why do we inspect manholes in the first place? πŸ’‘β€‹

Manholes undergo significant stress over time. Vehicle traffic, combined with freeze-thaw cycles, encourages the formation of cracks. These degradations can compromise the structural integrity of the structure, but they can also allow water that should naturally infiltrate into the groundwater to enter the sewer system instead, unnecessarily overloading it.

A quick 3-minute inspection with the DIPCAM helps detect these signs before they turn into major problems.β€‹πŸš§

Something shifted at the WWETT Show this week.

Our team flew to Indianapolis with a product we've been building in response to a real, persistent field problem. What we didn't fully anticipate was just how ready the industry was for it.

The conversations at our booth made one thing clear: the timing is right.

Something big is coming. Soon.πŸ‘€β€‹

Contractors and municipalities deserve better for the maintenance of underground assets, and modern technology can deliver better.

🚫 Productivity bottlenecks
🚫 Blurry, dark, unusable footage
🚫 Non-compliant data for municipal funding

We're unveiling this game-changer this year at the WWETT Show.

To detect cross-connections with a traditional self-propelled crawler camera, operators must stop at each suspect junction to observe the flow. For example, a toilet would discharge for a few seconds, while a constant flow indicates another source.βš οΈβ€‹

But the ZIPCAM 360, propelled by a high-pressure water jet instead of tracks, never stops! So how can you identify improper connections with such a fast-moving system?

The team simply performs a round trip through the pipe. By slowing the camera speed, operators can compare the same point a few minutes apart and determine whether the observed flow is normal or problematic.

The result: faster, compliant inspections, with no need to return to the site!πŸ”§

The ZIPCAM 360 is a bit like a classic Mr. Potato Head… but in cutting-edge mechanical engineering form!πŸ₯”β€πŸ”§

Add a 360 camera, an adjustable arm, a set of interchangeable wheels, and you get our modular inspection camera designed for sewer pipelines ranging from 6 to 48 inches!

And just like Mr. Potato Head, our ZIPCAM is undeniably stylish.πŸ˜Žβ€‹
