Inukrock
We are a non-for-profit organization based in Inukjuak, Nunavik, supporting the development of rock climbing through youth leadership.
The season is starting, our trainings are kicking off, and you can feel the energy everywhere - even the weather is telling us it’s time, with all the snow melting away. Beautiful days are ahead, and we’re ready for what’s coming next. ☀️
At Inukrock, we’re here to support Inuit youth through climbing, building confidence, leadership. As the season gets going, our young leaders are taking on new challenges, growing their skills, and inspiring each other every step of the way. 🧗
The warm days are coming, and so is a season full of growth, adventure, and youth-led momentum. 🌱
Good morning everyone! 🙌
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our spring cliff expeditions and team-building activities ❄️ We are grateful for the support of our community in helping us gather the resources needed to make these experiences possible.
Going on the land supports our staff wellbeing through outdoor activity, connection to nature, and time spent together as a team.
These expeditions also allow us to search for new climbing spots while strengthening youth leadership, teach to each other through hands-on learning and land-based experiences. 🧗✨
Last Saturday, we were back on lagoon cliff and there was still a lot of snow. ❄️
Even so, the team got some climbing in and put in the work to shovel and clear the routes so we can start the season a little earlier !
Time spent on the land like this is about more than climbing. It’s about showing up, learning together, building skills, and creating space for everyone to grow — on and off the wall.
Huge thanks to Sirivik for their continued food support throughout the year - including the egg sandwiches you’ll spot in the video - and to M361, Moteur de stratégies sociales & ESUMA for their financial support, making this work possible !
Season’s almost here ! 🧗

Ever wondered why climbers always have chalky hands? 🙌Magnesium isn’t just for show - it helps improve grip and confidence on the wall (as you can see in the first photo!). 🧗
Our youth climbing group has been staying active with sessions twice a week at the gym, where participants build not only their physical strength, but also their perseverance and focus. Each climb is a chance to try again, push a little further, and support one another. ✨
As we get ready for the outdoor season, these sessions also help develop technique and a strong sense of community. For more advanced climbers, it’s an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of belaying and take on new challenges with greater responsibility !
We’re excited to see everyone grow and get ready for a summer full of climbing adventures! ☀️

A huge thank you to Délire Escalade - DÉLIRE Escalade and Bloc Shop for your support 💛
Organizations like Inukrock don't exist on their own. Based in Inukjuak, Nunavik, Quebec, everything costs more. In that context, gestures like these aren't just meaningful, they're what allow us to keep the program running and to meet the growing enthusiasm of young climbers in Inukjuak and across Nunavik, by making sure they actually have the gear to climb.
Délire's equipment donations today, Bloc Shop's contributions in the past, and initiatives that give Inuit youth free access to climbing gyms when they travel south, these are the things that make a real difference.
Grateful to be part of such a generous climbing community 💛

We’re sending a big, warm farewell to Audrey! 💜 Thank you for all the amazing work & energy you’ve brought as our General Manager and funder !
You’ve always put the voice of the youth at the heart of Inukrock, and we are committed to continuing this work with the same values. 🙌
We’re so happy to know the adventure continues with you as a contractual instructor in Ivujivik this summer.
Wishing you all the best in this new chapter ! 🤩☀️

We are very pleased to announce that Inukrock has received $10,000 from Enfant Soleil. This funding will allow us to purchase climbing equipment that will provide Inuit children and youth in Inukjuak with year-round access to a stimulating, safe, and supervised physical activity ! By making indoor training possible during the winter, this equipment will give around 100 young people aged 4 to 17 the opportunity each year to stay active, come together, take on challenges, and build confidence, while also preparing for the summer season ☀️🙌
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2024–2025 is now complete! Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making it a success. We look forward to welcoming Ivujiimmiut and Inukjuammiut at our next AGM. A heartfelt thank you as well to our partners for this event : Sirivik, northern, makivik, Arc'teryx, Pituvik landholding corporation, FM Radio 🙌

Last week, we had an amazing time skiing with ᓄᕐᕋᐃᑦ I Nurrait I Jeunes Karibus team. It was so nice that they could join our March Break team activity - It was so special to share quality time with another community organization outside of our usual work. These team bonding activities are really meaningful to us, and we can't wait for the next one!

"Last December, we got training from Percolab. It allowed us to communicate our teams needs and goals for the future! Since then, we have used their tools during our meetings to make proposals and plan our weeks. I really appreciated that we got to hear the whole team's needs. Huge thanks to Percolab!" - Joanassie alias Blade, team leader & president of Inukrock 🧗♂️
Huge thanks to ESUMA and Kativik Regional Government for making this possible! 🙌
