Two Rivers Gallery is a vital centre for visual art in Northern BC dedicated to lifelong learning through the arts.

We believe in vigorous artistic and cultural expression and offer diverse experiences for participation through our exhibitions & programs. Two Rivers Gallery proudly sits on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. Operated by the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association, the Gallery serves the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, which includes the traditional territories of the McLeod Lake Indian Band, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and Simpcw First Nation. The regional district consists of approximately 100,000 people across seven electoral areas and four municipalities, including Prince George with a population of 79,000. Two Rivers Gallery is contracted to provide services to the entire regional district and each year we travel with outreach programs and an exhibition to the District of Mackenzie (two hours to the north), the Village of Valemount (three hours to the east) and the Village of McBride (two hours to the east). The geographical area we serve is 51,083 ㎢ which is just shy of that of Nova Scotia. The name Two Rivers Gallery derives from the confluence of the two main waterways in the region, the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. Two Rivers Gallery is located within the city of Prince George, in Central British Columbia, nine hours north of Vancouver. Prince George, once considered a logging town, is a service centre for the northern half of the province. The next nearest public art gallery of comparable size and scope is five and a half hours away by car, and as a result Two Rivers Gallery is the main venue for experiencing contemporary art for the regional community.

Have you had a chance to visit Paradise Lost? If not, stop by this weekend and join us for Coffee with the Curator on Sunday, September 13, from 1:00–2:00 pm with our Curator, Ehsan Mo. Enjoy a guided tour and conversation, engage with the art, ask questions, and share your perspective.

Laura St. Pierre is a Fransaskoise artist working primarily in photography, video, and installation from an ecological perspective. Based on Treaty 6 Territory, her practice moves between beauty and unease, tracing fragile forms of life within environments shaped by industrialization and ecological loss.

In Paradise Lost, Laura explores one of the exhibition’s central questions: how the boundary between human and nonhuman life becomes increasingly unstable.

Across different media, she constructs speculative environments inhabited by The Sower / la Semeuse, a fictional figure living in a world largely emptied of life. Through acts of cultivation and preservation, care becomes a form of resistance, while survival depends on reciprocity, vulnerability, and connection.

Laura’s work challenges the idea that nature exists apart from human culture, instead imagining ecology as a network of shared dependence among human bodies, plants, materials, and environments.

New podcast episode is now live! Featuring Jazz Keillor

Tracing Lines is a periodic podcast by Two Rivers Gallery, where our staff has conversations with some of the amazing artists we work with.

Two Rivers Gallery is located on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh, on the land now known as Prince George, BC, where we are privileged to share art and promote creativity.

For centuries, dominant systems of thought have placed the human at the centre of the world, as the primary agent of meaning, knowledge, and control. Nature, animals, and objects have often been understood as secondary: resources to be used, studied, owned, or represented.

Posthumanism challenges this hierarchy. It asks us to reconsider the boundaries of the human and to recognize that we have always existed in relation to-and not apart from-the worlds around us.

Currently based in Kjipuktuk / Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jazz Keillor completed her Master of Fine Arts at NSCAD University, where she was awarded a SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship. She is a two-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and has received numerous project grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Arts Nova Scotia. In 2015, she was named the New Brunswick winner of the BMO 1st Art! competition.

Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Sackville, NB; Fort Langley, BC; Montreal, QC; Windsor, ON; Toronto, ON; and Halifax, NS. She currently teaches part time at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her painting practice examines contemporary relationships to land, focusing on notions of wilderness and constructed landscapes.

Two Rivers Gallery is deeply saddened by the passing of Saskatchewan artist David Thauberger.

David Thauberger’s solo exhibition at Two Rivers Gallery, The Prince George Paintings (2015), commemorated the 100th anniversary of Prince George. In the 1990s, David was commissioned by collector and former Prince George resident, George Killy, to create a series of paintings depicting historic buildings in and around the city. Killy later donated many of the paintings in this series to Two Rivers Gallery. Consequently, we are honoured to hold many of Thauberger’s paintings in our permanent collection.

The Prince George Paintings series was also published in an exhibition catalogue of the same title, preserving Thauberger’s distinctive artistic vision and capturing the character and essence of Prince George.

We extend our deepest condolences to David Thauberger’s family, friends, colleagues, and fellow artists. His remarkable contribution to Canadian art, and his connection to Prince George, will be remembered with great appreciation.
