It turns them into confident learners.

When your child can read, they start to do well in all other subjects.

It’s cards like this that fill my heart with so much joy.

I have the honour of working with so many kids, just like Logan, who work so hard and come so far. The credit is all theirs! I truly love my job.

Novel study happens this week for some of my students! I’m not sure who’ll be more excited?!

It’s that time of year again! This time we went with the windows that will last till the new year! Halloween and Christmas! All the kids have been amazed today! Thank you! MP Make-up Artistry , Prince George BC You have outdone yourself once again!

Valuable lesson I learned today.

My youngest has had problems getting her earrings in. There was some build up and she wouldn’t let me do much.

Time went on and the problem was obviously not resolving itself.

When we arrived to the studio, we learned that the scar tissue was tight and needed to be stretched. The guy was amazing, but it was rather uncomfortable for this poor girl.

Tears streamed down her face and I felt so heartbroken for her and the whole situation.

Somethings I cannot fix as a mother. And I need to go to those who are trained to solve the specific problem.

She’s now happily playing in her room. And I wish I had done this months ago.

The same thing goes with learning to read. If your child is pushing back, don’t wait for them to simply pick it up on their own.

Waiting will only keep them further behind and soon, all other subjects in school will be much more uncomfortable to learn.

Did you know that schwa is the most common sound in the English language? 👂

A schwa sound is a “lazy” vowel sound in an unstressed syllable. For example, in ‘moun-tain’, the unstressed syllable ‘tain’ contains the schwa sound ‘ai’, which is clipped to an /i/ or /u/ sound instead.

It’s important to teach schwa sounds to aid beginners with their spelling, preventing words such as ‘mountain’ from being spelt ‘mountin’, ‘mountun’, ‘mounten’, and even ‘mountn’! That’s why, to celebrate , we’re sharing a step-by-step guide to teaching the schwa sound in our latest blog:
