The Globe and Mail has done excellent work telling the story of the Driver Inc. scheme that has been a plague on the Canadian trucking industry for years. By misclassifying the employment status of drivers, these predatory companies and owners have robbed their staff of basic employment protections, old-age pension payments, workers' compensation and taxes from the pockets of Canadians. Thank you to the Globe and Mail for paying attention, to the Canadian Trucking Alliance for their tireless efforts and to the Government of Canada for taking action.
How failures in Canada's trucking industry put you at risk Trucking is an essential industry that underpins the Canadian economy — and was once a path to middle-class life for drivers. But a Globe and Mail investigat...
