Two ways to sync PortaBilling with external systems — and how to choose between them. PortaOne Workflows includes two solutions for connecting PortaBilling to the systems your business runs on: NSPS for real-time subscriber provisioning, and Boomi for complex, multi-step business workflows.
NSPS is designed for real-time provisioning of subscriber data — SIM activation, plan changes, and other subscriber lifecycle events — to mobile network components such as HSS or PCRF, or service delivery platforms such as IPTV.
Boomi enables connecting PortaBilling to CRM, ERP, finance, and helpdesk systems through hundreds of prebuilt connectors and ready-to-use integration templates. Workflows can be configured with a visual no-code interface or extended with low-code scripting.
The two tools differ in scope, required skill set, deployment model, and pricing — watch the video for a full breakdown.

Choosing a softphone deployment model based only on day-one speed can quickly become a strategic trap for CSPs. While starting out with cloud infrastructure keeps things simple and reduces headaches early on, a setup optimized strictly for today can become a major limitation when larger enterprise or government opportunities appear tomorrow.
As customer requirements evolve, aspects like strict security policies, procurement rules, and data residency expectations can suddenly make deployment flexibility a deal-breaker.
This shifts the conversation beyond a simple choice of cloud vs on-premise.
The real question is whether your deployment model can actually support your growth when your customers' requirements change.
Find out why deployment flexibility is becoming a real strategic advantage for CSPs — and how to recognize when deployment architecture becomes more than just a technical detail: https://blog.portaone.com/on-premise-vs-cloud-for-csps
On-Premise vs Cloud: When a Deployment Model Becomes a Business Decision for CSPs Cloud deployment is often the default choice for CSPs – but not always the right one. Learn when on-premise infrastructure becomes a strategic advantage for compliance, control, and long-term flexibility.

AI starts simple - one model, a few customers, predictable costs. Then usage spreads, heavy users appear, token costs move, and pricing doesn’t. Costs, usage, billing, and pricing live in different tools. Everything seems fine, but numbers don’t match. A customer looks profitable but may actually drain margins.

Softphones built on WebRTC let CSPs deliver instant, flexible communication inside the apps and workflows business users already rely on. This integrates calling functionality directly into the user’s environment – and that changes what a competitive business offer looks like.
For CSPs, this is the most effective way of delivering real-time communication because it works natively across browsers and devices. Unlike traditional models that require manual installation and complex configuration, WebRTC was purpose-built for all modern web browsers.
Find out why softphones built on WebRTC are the baseline of a competitive business offer, and what that means for how you go to market: https://blog.portaone.com/enterprise-webrtc-for-csps/

Thinking about a 5G rollout in Africa, Latin America, or anywhere that you’re starting from scratch? One Mobile Sierra Leone, with support from Wireless Technology Labs and PortaOne, launched West Africa’s first 5G SA network – on schedule and hitting close to 1 Gbps. From planning to launch, this case study highlights lessons in speed to market, teamwork, and customer experience that can help telecom operators succeed in emerging markets.
Key takeaways:
* Speed to market is a choice, not a coincidence.
* Partner selection requires those who solve problems, not ones who just send a bill.
* Customer experience matters everywhere, even for small details like top-ups.

PortaSwitch MR129 lets you offer compliant emergency calling in the US with Bandwidth as your E911 provider, gives your customers' employees control over their own PBX extensions, helps call centers reduce abandoned calls with a callback option, and more.
• Compliant E911 calling with : A new Add-on Mart module connects PortaSwitch with Bandwidth, routing 911 calls with registered location data to the right Public Safety Answering Point – helping you comply with US regulations like RAY BAUM's Act.
• Employee self-service in CloudPBX: Individual employees can now sign into the CloudPBX Self-Care Portal to manage their own call forwarding, voicemail, recordings, and hunt group availability – no admin needed for routine changes.
• Queue callback option: When wait times get long, callers can request a callback instead of staying on hold. The system keeps their place in line and calls them back automatically when an agent is available.
• Multiple bundle usage notifications: You can now set several notification thresholds per bundle item – for example, at 50%, 80%, and 100% of their minutes have been used– to meet regulatory requirements and give customers more warning before pay-as-you-go rates apply.
• Bulk rate addition across tariffs: Add a rate for a new phone prefix to all related tariffs in a single operation instead of editing each one manually.
• Password expiration per customer class: Apply different password expiration policies to different customer classes to balance security and convenience.
•Token-based auth from the web interface: Enable token-based authentication for accounts directly in the PortaBilling web interface, without API calls.
