" *Follow up* This time last year we held a contest to see who had the best solution to eliminate fruit flies from homes. A few suggestions were tested and the winner was…. white wine!
Through the winter and now early summer we have continued to test out different liquids and to our surprise, we have found that fermented carrot juice works even better!
So if you disagree and have a better solution then let us know your secret weapon.

Let's hear what you've got!
CONTEST * How to enter*
👉 You post your favourite fruit fly trap concoction in the comments, with clear instructions on how to make it (ensure the materials are easily accessible).
👉 We'll create your fruit fly trap and post a picture of it.
👉 After one week, we'll count up the fruit flies in each trap and the person with the most corpses wins a $25 gift certificate to Port Moody Flowers (or a coffee card to those who live outside the lower mainland).

P.S. - If other pests are causing damage to your home, contact PPD Restorations to get back to normal quickly: https://buff.ly/2Me2V9v

Has an army of ants recently invaded your home?

Don't worry, unless you've got carpenter ants doing minor renovations (eep!), they're manageable on your own.

How so?

Your first line of defense is soap and water: clean the area where the ants are entering your home and the trail they're following.

Next, take some cinnamon and sprinkle it around the entrance (ants hate cinnamon).

If the ants persist, buy a liquid ant bait sold at your local hardware store.

If you have damage to your home from carpenter ants or other pests, contact PPD Restorations, your local restoration service provider: https://buff.ly/2IKKRBW

Signs you have a hidden mold problem:
*frequent coughing
*sneezing
*difficulty breathing
*sinus headaches
*other allergy symptoms without explanation

Because mold is often hidden in cracks and wall cavities, it isn't always obvious that your property has mold.

Not sure if you have a mold problem?

You'll need someone to assess your site using special equipment that can detect the hidden moisture and measure humidity levels in the building materials of your property.

Whether you're sure you have mold or not, we can help.

As front-yard trees and shrubs begin to sprout leaves after the cold winter, now's the time to cut back the branches that haven't fully bloomed.

Additionally, make sure nothing green and growing is touching the foundation, exterior, walls, or roof of your home.

Plants can introduce moisture into a structure, which encourages rot and creates handy walkways for rodents and wood-eating pests (ick!).
