Discovering Codex Vaticanus 📜✨

One of the oldest surviving Greek Bible manuscripts, dating to the 4th century — containing most of the Old & New Testaments. Its pages reveal centuries of history, scribal craft, and the transmission of sacred texts. The codex was written in Greek uncial script on parchment and shows corrections and annotations from multiple scribes, giving rare insight into early textual transmission and editorial practices.

🇮🇹 What a wonderful start to our Summer Table of Nations! 🇮🇹

Tonight we gathered around tables for our very first Italian Dinner, and it was an evening to remember.

A huge thank you to Maria Rickman for sharing her time, talents, and authentic Italian cooking with us. Together, we learned how to make homemade noodles, pasta sauce, meatballs, chicken cutlets, fresh salad, and of course, a delicious tiramisu for dessert!

More than the food, it was a joy to connect with people we don’t always get the chance to spend time with on a Sunday morning. We laughed, learned something new, shared stories, and enjoyed a fabulous meal together.

At PORT BIC, we believe that some of the best relationships are built around a table, and this evening was a beautiful reminder of that.

This is just one of the many ways we’re gathering throughout the summer. Next month we’ll be travelling (through food!) to Greece, followed by the Philippines in August.

If you’d like to join us for one of our upcoming Table of Nations dinners, be sure to sign up at the Welcome Desk.

Thank you again, Maria! The evening exceeded all expectations, and we’re so grateful for the way you helped bring our church family together.

Psalm 133 🎶 HINEH MA TOV 🔴 LIVE at the TOWER of DAVID, Jerusalem - Joshua Aaron | Messianic Worship 06/10/2026

This weeks 🙌🏾 is taken from last weeks sermon, as Pastor Ken referenced Psalm 133.

"How good and how pleasant it is that brothers dwell together."

Hine (or Hinay or Hinei) Ma Tov (Hebrew: הִנֵּה מַה טוֹב) is a Jewish hymn traditionally sung at Shabbat feasts.

We don’t know exactly when David composed this song, but one likely occasion was when David was finally received as king over all the tribes of Israel, ending a terrible season of national division and discord.

“It could date from the crowning of David at Hebron when the leaders of the nation were, for a time at least, of one heart and mind (see 2 Samuel 5:1; 1 Chronicles 12:38-40).” (James Montgomery Boice)

Psalm 133:1-3 (NLT) 1 A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! 2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. 3 Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the LORD has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

Psalm 133 🎶 HINEH MA TOV 🔴 LIVE at the TOWER of DAVID, Jerusalem - Joshua Aaron | Messianic Worship Hineh Ma Tov (Psalm 133) was performed LIVE at the Tower of David, Jerusalem to commemorate 10 years of music (Joshua Aaron) and celebrate Israel's 70th year...

❤️ Looking Back with Gratitude. Looking Ahead with Hope. ❤️

Recently, we asked: “What is your favourite memory of PORT BIC Church?” The responses were a beautiful reminder that a church is so much more than a building—it’s a family.

We heard stories of baptisms, baby dedications, Pioneer Girls in the church basement, and generations growing up together in faith.

One person shared:
“We were married, my husband was baptized, all three of our children were dedicated, and our daughter was baptized here by Pastor Brian Lofthouse.”

Another remembered being baptized at just 8 years old by Pastor Stickley.

These stories remind us that every generation has helped shape the story of PORT BIC.

As we celebrate these precious memories, we are also excited about what God is doing next.

We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Mack to our staff team. Sarah will be helping us strengthen pathways of discipleship from birth through young adulthood.

The same church that has blessed generations with meaningful memories is continuing to invest in the generations to come.

Ancient town cursed by Jesus yields a stunning 1,500‑year‑old discovery ✨🔵

12‑year‑old Alon Horowitz found a rare Nicolo gemstone during a community dig at Korazim National Park near the Sea of Galilee — just minutes before the team finished their three‑day excavation. Likely from Roman–Byzantine jewelry, this blue agate dates back at least 1,500 years and is a gorgeous reminder that history still surprises us. 🏺🌊

Korazim — named in Matthew 11 and Luke 10 as one of the towns Jesus rebuked — was a thriving Jewish village from the end of the Second Temple period through the medieval era. 📜🕯️

“Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God. “What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. I tell you, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.”

Matthew 11:20-22 (NLT)

“What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. Yes, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.”

Luke 10:13-14 (NLT)
