Thank you to the City of Port Colborne for helping us celebrate our Reach Out Centre Open House and greenhouse ribbon cutting! πŸŒ±πŸ’™

A special thank you to Jungbunzlauer and The Canadian Tilling Foundation for their generous support in bringing this project to life.

This greenhouse represents more than a new growing space. It will help provide fresh produce for our programs, create opportunities for volunteers to get involved, and strengthen our ability to support local individuals and families through community-grown food.

We're excited to watch it grow alongside our community.

Thank you to Hustle & Heart 91.7 Giant FM for helping share our story! πŸ’™

This weekend, we were proud to welcome the community to our Reach Out Centre Open House as part of Port Cares' 40th anniversary celebrations. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the improvements to the space, connect with community members, and highlight the programs and services that support local individuals and families

We're especially glad to hear the accessible playground was such a hit with visitors. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and celebrated this milestone with us!

Port Cares celebrated 40 years and their re-designed Reach Out Centre, this weekend. One of the biggest hits was the accessible playground.

A Huge Thank You to the Port Colborne Lions Club! πŸ’™

Ruby had the chance to meet up with some familiar friends this week as we celebrated a generous $4,000 donation from the Port Colborne Lions Club in support of our 40,000 lbs of Food to Celebrate 40 Years campaign.

Pictured with Ruby are Matthew Brule from Port Cares, along with Clayton, Debbie, and John from the Lions Club.

The Port Colborne Lions Club has been a long-time supporter of Port Cares, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to helping people in our community. Their generosity will help provide healthy food and vital support to individuals and families across South Niagara.

Thank you for helping us celebrate 40 years of service by investing in a stronger, more food-secure community. πŸ“

P.S. Ruby is keeping busy this month! Stay tuned to see where she pops up next. πŸ“

WHERE DID RUBY POP UP THIS WEEK? πŸ“πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ

Ahoy, mates! βš“

My latest adventure took me aboard a ship at the Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum. While exploring, I learned that keeping a ship afloat takes teamwork. From the captain to the crew, everyone plays an important role in helping it reach its destination.

The same is true at the Reach Out Centre.

Did you know that more than 45 volunteers donate their time to help keep the Reach Out Centre running?

From sorting donations and stocking shelves to preparing meals and offering a friendly smile while helping clients navigate the food bank, volunteers are at the heart of so much of what happens here.

As we chart a course toward our goal of collecting 40,000lbs of food to celebrate 40 years of service, we're reminded that it takes an entire community pulling in the same direction to make it possible. ❀️

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, food drive organizer, and supporter helping us keep the shelves stocked and food moving to the neighbours who need it most.

Here’s how you can join the crew:
πŸ₯« Drop off food donations at the Reach Out Centre (61 Nickel St)
πŸ’š Donate online at portcares.ca

I wonder where I'll drop anchor next week... πŸ‘€βš“
