The Clubhouse models was designed as an effective way to provide programs and services which are intended to both strengthen individual skills and to develop the environmental support necessary to sustain the individual in the community. The Ponoka Rising Sun Clubhouse Society guarantees its members 4 basic rights:
1) A right to a place to come

We have been so touched by the kindness and concern shown since our front door was damaged at PRSC. To everyone who has reached out, offered encouragement, or asked how they could help financially, thank you. Your generosity means more than you know.

For those wondering, yes, our door is currently boarded up. We had already budgeted for a complete new entrance and frame, so we are moving ahead with that plan, it just takes a little time.

As grateful as we are for the offers of financial support, we know we are not the only ones affected by acts of vandalism. Many local businesses, properties and personal items have experienced the same, and we wouldn’t feel right accepting donations for something we were already prepared to replace.
Instead, we’ll continue doing what we do best, building a community of inclusion, compassion, and understanding. Thank you for standing with us.

We are hoping for some sunny days this week so just maybe our very talented Jessica can spruce up the place!

To say I'm enraged is not enough! I'm tired as a resident of feeling unsafe and invalid with my concerns like so many. Now this display of disrespect and ignorance is my last straw! I as an advocate of a vulnerable population I spend countless moments, which should not be my routine chasing "trespassers" away from a centre that is to be a safe space, that some won't even come to as regular or at all because getting here poses a threat daily on our streets. Now their "safe place" has been threatened and carries a visual of unsafe. On the security cameras last night at around 2am in less then 1 hour I counted 10 "not up to good" individuals and my opinion 3 if not 4 were minors. I know our justice system, I listen and educate myself on both sides so my question is...why are we making individuals like this comfortable and arming them with the term "pass"? We deserve better. We need to do better.
